Becky felt like a dejavu again. The scene she is currently in like she had been one before.
"Where are we going?"
Becky stumbled slightly, trying to keep up with Freen's brisk pace.
Her wrist was firmly in the grasp of the tiger boss, who seemed determined to drag her back to the office for reasons still unclear.
This wasn't the first time Becky had been whisked away by Freen without warning, but something about this moment felt different.
Perhaps it was the way Freen's grip was just a little tighter than usual or the guarded expressions of the two bodyguards stationed outside her office door—guards that definitely hadn't been there earlier.
Freen ignored the men, pushing the door open with one hand and pulling Becky in with the other.
"Take this and sign it," Freen said curtly, releasing Becky's wrist and placing a sheet of crisp white paper on the desk alongside something red—Becky's passport.
Becky blinked at the items in confusion. "What's this?"
Freen's tone turned sharper. "Just sign it. We don't have time for questions."
Hesitating, Becky's eyes darted between Freen and the paper. There was an urgency in Freen's voice that left little room for argument, but a flicker of defiance rose in Becky. "I'd prefer to know what I'm signing before I—"
"Becca." Freen's voice softened but carried a weight that silenced Becky's protest. "Trust me. Just this once."
The gaze in Freen's eyes was fleeting, but it was enough to make Becky exhale deeply and pick up the pen. With a nervous hand, she signed the document.
Freen immediately took the pen and added her own signature beside Becky's before returning the paper to the desk.
"What is this?" Becky asked again, her voice quieter this time.
Freen didn't answer. Instead, she gestured to the bodyguards. "Lock the office. Take this document and inform the staff I'll be away with my secretary for a week. No interruptions."
Before Becky could process the implications of that statement, Freen grabbed her wrist again, though this time her hold was gentler.
"Come on. We're leaving."
By the time Becky woke up, the hum of the flight was gone, replaced by the soft sound of waves crashing against the shore.
Blinking groggily, she was greeted by a breathtaking view of endless blue ocean stretching beneath a clear sky.
"Where... are we?" she mumbled, still disoriented.
Freen's voice broke through her thoughts, steady and calm. "Come on. We're here."
Becky barely had time to take in her surroundings as Freen guided her out of the car.
The thirty-minute drive from the airport had left her drowsy, but the sight of their destination jolted her awake.
The villa was massive—more than what Becky would have considered extravagant. Floor-to-ceiling windows lined the open living space, offering a panoramic view of the ocean. Luxurious furnishings filled the room, and the scent of fresh flowers lingered in the air.
Becky's jaw dropped. "This... is where we're staying?"
Freen, already walking toward the balcony, turned back with a faint smile. "What do you think?"
