"It's incredible," Becky breathed, still in awe.

Freen leaned against the balcony railing, her gaze fixed on the horizon. "I thought you'd appreciate the change of scenery."

Becky joined her hesitantly, her confusion from earlier bubbling to the surface. "But... why are we here? You didn't mention anything about a trip. Let alone changes of place. And this place—" She gestured to the villa. "This isn't just a vacation spot."

Freen didn't answer right away. Instead, she reached for a glass of water left on the balcony table, taking a deliberate sip before finally speaking.

"It's a honeymoon."

Becky froze, her eyes widening. "A honeymoon?"

Freen's calm demeanor faltered slightly at Becky's shock. "It was a last-minute changes of plan decision. My parents thought it was... necessary."

Becky laughed nervously, running a hand through her hair.

"A honeymoon. Of course. Because that's normal for people in..." She paused, her voice lowering. "...our situation."

Freen stiffened at the comment, her jaw tightening. "This isn't just for appearances, Becca. It's a chance for us to..." She hesitated, searching for the right words. "To figure things out. Together."

Becky felt a flicker of something unnamable in her chest.

She wanted to question Freen more, to dig deeper into what she really meant. But before she could, Freen's phone buzzed loudly, breaking the moment.

Freen glanced at the screen and frowned.

"I need to take this. Explore the villa. I'll join you soon." Without another word, she disappeared into the next room, leaving Becky alone on the balcony.

As the sun began to set, Becky wandered the villa, her awe gradually giving way to unease. The space was too big, too lavish, and it only emphasized the distance between her and Freen.

She found herself in the kitchen, absentmindedly inspecting the well-stocked pantry when Freen's voice startled her.

"Do you like it?"

Turning around, Becky found Freen leaning casually against the doorway, her expression unreadable.

"It's beautiful," Becky admitted. "But... it's overwhelming. All of this—" She gestured around the villa. "It doesn't feel real."

Freen stepped closer, her gaze softening. "That's the point. I wanted us to leave reality behind for a while."

"But why?" Becky's voice cracked slightly, betraying her frustration.

"You don't talk to me, you barely explain anything, and then you whisk me away to..." She trailed off, overwhelmed by a mix of emotions she couldn't articulate.

Freen stopped a few steps away, her presence commanding yet strangely vulnerable. "Because I don't know how else to make this work."

Becky blinked, taken aback. "What are you talking about?"

Freen exhaled sharply, running a hand through her hair.

"This. Us. This isn't easy for me, Becca. I've spent years keeping people at a distance, and now—" She cut herself off, shaking her head.

Becky took a cautious step closer. "Freen... I'm not expecting perfection. I just need you to be honest with me."

For a moment, Freen looked at her as though considering how much to reveal.
