Chapter 18: A Dangerous Meeting
The day after her exchange with Farhan, Fathiya found herself wrestling with her thoughts. Rayyan's offer to meet had lingered in her mind all night. Even after turning off her phone, she couldn't escape the temptation to explore this new connection. She had never expected to be in this situation—married yet feeling something akin to excitement with another man.

As she sat at her desk, trying to focus on work, her phone buzzed with a message from Rayyan.

Good morning, beautiful. Did you sleep well?

Fathiya hesitated before typing back, Good morning. Yes, I did. You?

I couldn't sleep well, he replied. I was thinking about you and hoping we'd meet soon.

She felt a flutter in her stomach. Was this really happening? The logical part of her mind screamed for her to stop, but her emotions were winning. She typed back, When do you want to meet?

Rayyan didn't waste any time, How about tonight? 7 PM? I'll send the location.

Fathiya took a deep breath before replying, Okay. See you then.

As the day progressed, Fathiya's anticipation grew, but so did her guilt. She tried to remind herself that she and Farhan were separated, that she deserved some space to figure things out. But part of her knew that meeting Rayyan wasn't as innocent as she'd like to believe. She tried to push these thoughts away, focusing instead on how different Rayyan made her feel—wanted, appreciated, understood.

When 7 PM finally arrived, Fathiya found herself standing outside a cozy café. She adjusted her scarf nervously as she glanced at her phone. I'm here, she texted.

Rayyan responded almost instantly, Coming in a minute. I'm parking.

She stood by the entrance, her heart racing. Just as she was about to check her reflection in her phone, she saw him approach. Rayyan was even more attractive in person—tall, with a casual yet confident gait. He smiled as soon as he saw her, and Fathiya couldn't help but return the smile.

"Salam, Fathiya," Rayyan said, his voice warm.

"Wa'alaykumsalam," she replied, feeling her pulse quicken.

"You look even more beautiful in person," he complimented, making her blush slightly.

They settled at a small table in the corner of the café. The conversation started off light, with Rayyan asking about her day and sharing bits of his. Fathiya found herself laughing at his jokes, something she hadn't done in a while. She felt at ease with him, but the guilt never fully left her.

Meanwhile, Farhan, who had been trying to give Fathiya space, couldn't shake the nagging feeling that something was off. He had noticed her online late at night, but she had shut him out whenever he asked her anything. Unable to focus at home, he decided to take a drive, hoping the cool night air would clear his mind.

As fate would have it, Farhan drove past the same café where Fathiya and Rayyan were meeting. He wasn't even paying attention until he caught a glimpse of her—his wife—through the window. At first, he wasn't sure it was her, but when he saw her laughing and talking with a man who was clearly not him, something inside him snapped.

His heart raced, and he felt a wave of anger and betrayal. Without thinking, he parked his car across the street and stormed into the café. As soon as he entered, his eyes locked onto Fathiya and Rayyan. The smile on her face, the way they were leaning towards each other—it confirmed everything.

"Fathiya!" Farhan's voice cut through the café like a knife.

Startled, Fathiya looked up, her heart sinking when she saw Farhan standing there, his eyes blazing with fury.

Rayyan, confused, glanced between them. "Who's this?" he asked, his brow furrowing.

Fathiya stood up, her legs shaky. "Farhan, it's not what it looks like..."

Farhan's jaw clenched. "Not what it looks like? You're sitting here with another man, laughing, while I'm at home thinking we're working through things? What do you call that?"

Rayyan rose from his seat, trying to maintain composure. "Calm down, man. Let's not make a scene."

"Who are you?" Farhan shot back, his voice rising. "You have no right to talk to my wife."

The word wife seemed to hang in the air, and Rayyan stepped back, realizing the situation was much more complicated than he thought.

"Farhan, please," Fathiya pleaded, tears welling up in her eyes. "I just needed space

Space? Is this what you call space? Meeting with another man behind my back?" Farhan's voice cracked, the hurt evident. He couldn't believe what he was seeing. His world felt like it was collapsing around him.

The entire café had gone silent, all eyes on the unfolding drama. Rayyan, sensing the intensity of the situation, turned to Fathiya and quietly said, "I didn't know you were married. I'm sorry."

Fathiya's heart raced, and she didn't know what to say. She had crossed a line, and now everything was spiraling out of control.

"I need to get out of here," Farhan muttered, turning on his heels and storming out of the café.

"Farhan, wait!" Fathiya called after him, but he didn't stop. She ran after him, leaving Rayyan standing alone, bewildered.(she didn't even know why but she found herself following farhan )

Outside, Farhan was already unlocking his car, but Fathiya caught up to him, grabbing his arm. "Please she pleaded",

"I thought you wanted time to heal, but instead, you're moving on here " he echoed

"I can't do this right now," Farhan said quietly before getting into his car. He sped off into the night, leaving Fathiya standing on the street, her heart shattered.
