THE FARHAN'S

I awoke at 9:00 a.m. to find him still on the phone, and I could hear his voice from my room... I sighed and got up to clean the room... then went to the kitchen and prepared breakfast
After a few minutes, I heard him say his salam in the dining area.
"Wa alaikumu salam...ya dai," I said, looking up at him.
"Kalau oo," he said, "Are you not going to work today?" I inquired, "or is today a holiday?"
"No I am planning to be a bit late today" he answered
Ohh okay I said and served him his yam and egg sauce

"Umm Walahi abinci sai keh...no one beats you in this area," he stated as he licked his fingers.
"Allah koh masoyina," I said as I stared at him. "Uhmm ke dai bari," he replied.
Then I heard his phone ring, and his demeanor suddenly altered...
I saw him put the phone on silent and then tell me it was an urgent call and that he needed to leave for work right away. I didn't have the energy to even begin my inquiries at that point, so I just answered with a nod and a smile, and he walked away.

After 2 hours I finished cleaning the house and I have also washed the dirty dishes ..I sat down watching bridgerton season 2 on Netflix when I kept on hearing whatsapp message notifications at first I didn't pay attention till it was becoming too many and I became curious ..I paused my series and opened my app to see 90 notification from my university FREINDS group chat on the side and it was kind of weird because the group is mostly silent since after our graduation unless w e have an announcement or something to talk about ,I tapped the phone screen and the first thing I saw is a message from aisha ismail saying
"Guyss I just saw something and I just have to talk where is fathiya"?
Barira : "what did you see? Gist us"
Aisha ismail: "did you guys see amals prewedding pictures"

Amani: "hmm Walahi it's like you have read my mind because I just finshed seeing it ah ig na kasa magana"

Aisha ismail: "so it's true I taught i was imagining something nonsense but I was shockedactually"
"amal bata kyauta bah Walahi ,I feel sorry for fathiya"

My hands were shaking while I was scrolling through the chats because I clearly knew it wasn't going to be something I will like anyone to know ,I felt a feeling of embarrassment without knowing why ..I let out a heavy sigh and I continued scrolling

Yasmeen chipped in and said:"Guyss please tell us what is going on"
Barira: " I am so confused right now to be honest"

That is how I scrolled through the chats one by one my heart beating more than it should beat till I saw a text by aisha ismail saying "amal married fathiyas husband, or am I mistaking???"
Amani replied with exactly tagging this previous message
Yasmeen : " whattt!! Aisha please stop joking"

Barira: "you guys gotta be kidding us"

Munira: " come oo I just came online to meet this ...the amal we know?"

Aisha now sent their pictures and wedding footage and the conversation went on
(Surraya is amal close FREIND and she is also a part of our group )
Surraya: "Inalilahi amma amal bata kyauta bah"I am highly disappointed Walahi tirr"
That was how the conversation went on and on with all my FREINDS blaming amal and sympathizing with me ..I waited till they kept quiet before I replied with
"Hey guys thank you for all your concerns it is true farhan married amal ,I saw it on ig on the day of their dinner"

Aisha ismail: " come so you didn't know ?"
Me: I didn't ...I just saw it on ig I replied
Barira: " oh my god I hope your fine fathiya ..how did you react"
Me:I haven't reacted yet ..they don't even know I know
Surraya:what?? You gotta be kidding me

Me:am not ...am just watching them trying to see when their conscience will allow them to tell me

Munira: "oh my god you are trying fathiya" may Allah give you the strength to pass through this

Ameen I replied and that was how I gisted them about how I knew everything hiding some parts of course ...I thanked them and reminded them of our plans ..the plan of them coming to my house the next day

Amani:Anya fathiya ayi haka?
Me:don't worry am okay you guys should just come
Munira:are you sure
Me:yes guys please stick to the plan
Aisha ismail:okay if you say so
And that was how we continued chatting till I was tired ...
The rest of the day went by .. he came back late in the evening ..nothing changed from the activities of the previous night he repeated the same thing of going out late and coming back early

The next day:
I woke up and prepared breakfast for him ,he ate and I told him my FREINDS will
Be coming over today he nodded and asked me whether I needed anything and I replied with I am okay don't worry ..he left for work after a while
And I started getting things ready for the welcoming of my FREINDS

When they arrived one by one after 1:00 p.m., everyone had something to say about Amal, but I showed them that I didn't care and didn't give them another chance to say anything. I felt like it was my problem and that it was between my husband and me. I didn't want to give anyone the opportunity to tell me something I'd later regret, so I kept changing the subject....we continued to converse, and I offered them some refreshments. I had no idea Surrayah had informed Amal about my knowledge of their marriage until the bell rang, and I mistook it for Munira. I went to get the door, and as soon as I opened it, I was confronted by them... I noticed him standing at her side, remorse written all over his face...I gazed back and forth between him and her and without saying anything I stormed back to the sitting room where I was , leaving the door ajar.
Seeing them together for the first time with my own eyes was too much for me to bear.
