Fathiya's father's voice thundered through the room, filled with rage. "Ka dauka bata da gata?! Toh wallahi tana da shi! (You think she doesn't have anyone to support her? Well, she does!)" He glared at Farhan, his hands shaking with fury. "My daughter is well brought up and educated, kuma tana da aikinta! She is successful in what she does! Kai din waye da har za ta tsaya ta dauki wannan rashin mutuncin? (And who are you for her to accept this disrespect?)"
Hisham, her older brother, stepped forward. "Tun kafin auren, daman na gaya maka—kan mu duka a hade yake! Baka isa ka cutar da ko mutum daya ba a cikin mu! (I told you before the marriage, we're all united. You cannot harm even one of us!)" His words echoed like a warning, his voice low and threatening.
Farhan, visibly sweating, wiped his forehead. His eyes darted toward Fathiya, silently pleading with her.
"Kar ki sake ki bar gidan nan, Fathiya. Ban baki izini ba! "
His voice, though strained, held firm authority. Fathiya, stunned by his words, stood frozen. The room fell silent as everyone absorbed the shock. Her father, barely containing his outrage, responded sharply.
"Fathiya, idan na isa da ke, ki zo mu tafi gida! "
He shot a cold glance at Farhan.
Fathiya's heart pounded in her chest, confusion swirling inside her. This confrontation was spiraling out of control. Her father's next words pierced her like a dagger.
"Idan har kika bari mutuncina ya zube yau a gaban wannan dan iskan mijin naki, toh wallahi bazan yafe ba! (If you allow my honor to fall today in front of this scoundrel you call a husband, I swear I will never forgive you!)" His eyes flared with emotion as he grabbed her arm, dragging her toward the door.
Despite the tightness in her throat, Fathiya didn't resist. Her father's anger felt like a storm too powerful to fight. Farhan ran after them, banging on the car door as her brothers packed her belongings. "Ina zaku kuka kai matata" he shouted, frantic and desperate.
But her father's response was final. "Gidan uban ta zamu kaita", With one last pull, he yanked her into the car, slamming the door shut as her brothers loaded the rest of her suitcases into another car. Farhan's pleas echoed as they sped away, leaving him standing in the driveway, his hands clenching his head, helpless.

At Amal's House
Farhan stumbled into Amal's house, the scent of incense hitting him immediately. The sweet aroma of turaren wuta mixed with her humrah and the scent of new furniture
Ina irin kamshin turanwutan chad dinan toh haka .
For a brief moment, it almost made him forget his worries.
"Toh gani nan! (Here I am!)" he called out, his voice weary.
"Baby ka dawo! (Baby, you're back!)" Amal's voice came from the kitchen. She smiled warmly as he walked in, her presence light and carefree.
"Eh wallahi, na dawo. (Yes, I'm back)," he replied, moving closer to her.
Amal pulled his beard playfully, a smile spreading across her face.
"Yanzu mai gemu na ya miki da zaki ja haka? Farhan teased, trying to lighten the mood.
Amal laughed, her eyes sparkling. "Haba, baby, gemun nan fa ya birgeni. "
But she quickly noticed his discomfort. "Wai naga sai zufa kake, ga kuma AC a kunne anan kitchen din"
Farhan sighed deeply, shaking his head. "Hmmm, abokiyar zamanki ce. (It's your co-wife.)" He paused, watching Amal's expression shift.
"Uhm, ina jin ka. " She continued stirring her sauce, but her tone was noticeably cooler.
"Baban ta yazo, ya ja ta, suka tafi. Suka ci mun mutunci. (Her father came, took her, and they left. "
Amal made a sympathetic face, though her eyes betrayed a flicker of relief. "Subhanallah. Allah ya kara maka hakuri, baby. (May Allah grant you more patience, baby.)" She paused for a moment, then added carefully, "Amma dai, zaka je ka dawo da ita ko? ,dan kai ma kasan bamu kyauta mata bah"
Farhan hesitated, Amal's words cutting into his thoughts. "Insha Allah, zan yi iya kokarina. (God willing, I'll try my best.)"

At fathiyas house
Hours later, back at her parents' house, Fathiya sat curled up on her bed, tears falling down her face. Her mother, Hajiya Salmatu, entered the room and quietly sat beside her, wrapping her arms around her daughter.
"Mama, I am so confused. Ban san mai zan yi ba. (I don't know what to do.)" Fathiya's voice cracked as she clung to her mother.
Hajiya Salmatu stroked her back softly.
"My strong child, ina so ki san cewa abinda Farhan ya yi ba kyauta ba. (I want you to know that what Farhan did was wrong.)" She took a deep breath.
"Amma, are you ready to face the society? Zasu ce maki bazawara Kawai kinyi wata biyar , kin shirya hakan? "
Fathiya's tears continued as her mother spoke. "Are you really ready to walk out of your five-month marriage just because he married someone else and didn't tell you?"
Her mother's voice softened further, "Akwai karin magana a Hausa—mugun da kika sani ya fi wanda baki sani ba. (There's a proverb in Hausa—'the devil you know is better than the one you don't.') Think about it.
She also said kika zama bazawara yanzu saidai married men Kuma you will still be the second ,are you ready for that ?she asked again". Hmm she reacted then She kissed Fathiya's forehead before standing up to leave the room.just then her father, Baba Hisham, stormed in. "Lallai, Maman Hisham, ba zaki raina wa yarinya hankali ba. (Indeed, you will not confuse this girl's mind!)" His eyes were filled with frustration.
"The decision is hers, we can't force her," her mother replied, remaining calm.
Her father's voice rose again. "Ni ina bukatar ganin ki a daki yanzu! (I need to see you in the room now!)" He stormed out, leaving Fathiya and her mother exchanging worried glances.

In the Parents' Room
When Hajiya Salmatu entered the room, her husband was pacing angrily. "Taya za ki gaya mata irin wannan magana? (Why are you telling her those things?) We should be supporting her, not making her confused!" His voice was sharp.
Hajiya Salmatu remained calm. "Ba wai ina forcing nata bane (I'm not forcing her), but you know very well that this situation is not unique to her
"Ba ah kanta aka fara kishiya bah toh". ,It has happened before and will continue to happen. If you say she's educated, well-grounded, and independent, is that all a woman needs? She also has needs. We both know how it feels at five months into marriage."
Her husband paused, processing her words. "You're right, but that doesn't justify what he did!" He sighed deeply, finally understanding her concern. "But I will not allow my daughter to go back to that man. He doesn't deserve her." He stormed out of the room, leaving his wife standing there in deep thought.
Fathiya, meanwhile, sat alone in her room, her mind spinning with the weight of her decision.
