"Hey Hope!"
Great just my luck. Note the sarcasm.
"Hey..." I may or may not have forgotten her name... In my defence I didn't get any sleep last night and I can barely remember my own name!
"Cassidy. My name is Cassidy," she says laughing.
"Ya I knew that. Sorry just super tired," truth be told I still have no clue who she is, but she sorta looks familiar.
"Ya well I was wondering if you wanted to be my partner in gym class today? I heard we are doing something other than stupid games," she says smiling.
"Um...ya sure. Why not?"
"Okay awesome! I'll see you in there."
I walked away slightly confused. Did I know her? Again, in my defence I met a lot of people this week, I can't remember anyone except my close friends.
"Hey Hope!" Ash says walking over to me and slinging and arm around my neck. "Rough night last night?"
"Ugh! Can you tell?" I said rubbing my eyes.
"Only a little..." She says smiling slightly.
"You are such a liar!" I told her and she laughs.
We go our different ways, as I went to the change rooms for gym. Yes that's right! Gym first period! Literally the worse thing ever.
I got changed quickly and quietly, then head out the doors into the gym. There I saw some baseball bats and some mitts.
Guess Cassidy wasn't wrong about the actually playing sports part.
Once everyone filed in, the girls taking longer than the boys, Mrs. V. finally spoke up.
"Okay class! As you can see, we are gonna be playing baseball. That means two things! 1, we are gonna be going outside! And 2, you need to pair up!"
Instantly the whole class moved and scrambled to find a good partner.
"Hey Hope," Faith came up beside me, "Wanna be my partner?"
"Yo Faith I really want to... But I already promised Cassidy that I would be her partner," I say, and she just shakes it off.
"Ya cool. Okay. I'll go ask someone else. No biggie. Maybe next time." She says and head off. Then I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned around to see Cassidy with a huge smile on her face.
"I'm so glad we are partners!" She says excitedly. Now you'd be greatly mistaken if you thought she was your typical blonde. She talked like it, she acted like it, but she was actually super smart and super athletic too. And she wasn't even blonde, she was a brunette.
"Ya...me too..." I say hesitantly.
"Let's go get a bat and a mitt!" She says raving towards the crowd. I followed her, grabbing a base ball as well.
We headed outside together, Cassidy never stopped talking.
"-and then she was like 'oh my god I can't believe it's really you!' And I was all like 'ha it's me now byeee' but of course I didn't say it that rudely. Well I don't think I did..."
