• Chapter 2 •

Hope

Faith and I walk off the bus and we walk side by side into the school.

Well not before we saw some boys washing off graffiti from the wall. I could make it out though, it said 'Welcome to Hell'

Oh ya that's an understatement! I was excited for a new school definitely, but not the academic part about it. I was the social butterfly, I just loved people, wanting to get to know everyone!

And a new school was definitely the place to do that! Especially just coming into grade 10.

I look over to Faith, she was freaking out! She had no need to be, she had me.

"Yo, calm down, it's gonna be okay. Like I said before, 'it's just a new school'."

"Exactly, Hope. It's a new school! How are you so calm?" She says without looking at me. I shrugged, I guess I wasn't nervous because I knew people.

I went to camp for two weeks with a bunch of kids, who are also going here. It was a great time!

It was the first time Faith and I didn't go to camp together. We usually go together, in the same cabin, etc. but not this year, I wanted some time to myself, to meet knew people, you know?

Faith to be honest wasn't to happy with me, when I brought up the subject of going to a different camp than her. But then we worked it out, just like we always do! It was an athletic camp, and Faith, unlike me, hated running.

I looked down back at my phone, looking if anyone had texted me. And guess what? They did! I had two texts; one from Ashlee and one from Evan.

Ashlee I met at camp, she was my roommate. She had long blonde hair, straight. She had big baby blue eyes and she was around the same height I was.

Ash: Heyyy u here yet?

H: ya we just arrived. You can meet my sister too!

Ash: yay! So excited! I'll meet u at your locker.

Ash: oh! And Evan is looking for you! ;)

I looked up from my phone, making sure I didn't bump into anyone.

Then looking back down at my phone, I read the text from Evan.

E: hey beautiful. Where r u?

H: meet me at my locker. Ash is there too, and you can meet my sister!

E: awesome! I'll see you there then.

I looked up from my phone, smiling.

"What are you smiling at?" Faith asks me curiosity getting the best of her.

"Oh, you get to meet some of my friends, they're at my locker!" I said excitedly and she gave me a look.

"You already have friends? How?"

"Camp" I replied simply.

"Oh so they're all skinny and fit like you. Great I'm gonna look like the fatty!" I looked at her shocked.

"Bro, your not fat! You're actually super skinny. I may be fit but that's only cause I like to run and do exercise. I'm sure if you went for a run with me every morning then you would be fit too."

"Ya...maybe..."

When we got in view of my locker I could see Ashlee and Evan, talking and laughing. I missed them so much and I'm so glad we were going to the same high school!

I run up to them giving Ashlee a hug first.

"I missed you so much girl!" She says and I laughed.
