Dedicated to BelWatson and her amazing book Unseen

Hurt beyond what words can express,
Broken beyond what gauze can mend.
She held back the water brimming in her eyes,
Trying to fight her kryptonite.

What did she ever do to anybody?
Did she commit a sin? A felony?
Maybe her crime was her mere existence.
Maybe that was her sole offence.

Her life was a drama. Theatrical, indubitably.
A huge, live, heart-rending tragedy.
But some people find amusement and a certain hilarity in plays.
Be it a satire, a romance, or a sob-inducing tragic display.

Maybe that's what they got out of putting her to shame.
Maybe they wanted to see her tears, her sheer dismay.
She gave them what they wanted, and they laughed out their souls.
Did they not understand that she was human? That she could take it no more?

Was her tragic predicament serving it's purpose?
Was she bringing joy to the heartless by crying them a river?
Human nature was something she would never be able to fully reveal.
All she could think about was the incredulity of her tragedy.
