Darkest of dark,
And lightest of light.
Today is the day
When our destinies entwine.
You and I together
Will decide our plight.
We'll sit back, hold hands,
And enjoy the ride.
For a single moment,
When I close my eyes,
I see a glimpse
Of an amazing life.
The scene before me
Is an astounding sight.
I hold you close
And let out a contented sigh.
But oh, too soon,
The storms approach.
I shout and shriek
At that lecherous hoe.
He's holding hands
With that despicable roach.
And I feel myself
Collapse onto the floor.
I run into my room
And grab a pillow.
I retire to my thoughts
And let the tears simply flow.
This life had seemed
Like such a fairyland.
But it's turned out to be something
For which I'd never planned.
