Chapter 19 ~ a tight spot ~

"I feel as if I should never have come here" Sam said.

"baby, why?"

"Pipon loved you so much and you loved him, and Timi loves you too"

"but can't you see, you saved my life baby" Maskwa replied before continuing,

"what do you think my life would be like if you weren't here hmm? Pon would still be with Raz, Pipon would still be dead and Timi, I guess he's as happy as can be expected but I would still have been alone, you came into my life and gave me something to live for again"

"we're going to bed you guys" Raz and Pon said standing up and leaving.

"wait for me boys, I'll come with you" Maskwa's mother said leaving Maskwa and Sam alone by the fire.

"I wanted you the minute I set eyes on you baby, if you only knew ..." Maskwa began.

"only knew what?" Sam asked

"I don't want to say" Maskwa replied

"what did I just tell you about keeping secrets?" Sam said.

"then don't start giving me grief after I tell you ... that day when I first met you I was in the shower and I ..." Maskwa said nodding.

"what?"

"you know" Maskwa said.

"if I knew I wouldn't be asking" Sam said.

"I imagined you ... on your knees with me in your mouth, I came in your mouth baby" Maskwa groaned.

"fuck Maskwa, shiyaa" Sam said.

"did you do anything while thinking of me?" Maskwa asked him.

"I wish I could say yes but I'm obviously not as naughty as you" Sam smiled.

"I doubt that very much after the outfit you were wearing that night at the bar" Maskwa said

"just because I was wearing a sexy outfit doesn't make me a naughty boy"

"I think we should end this conversation before I drag you back over to those trees" Maskwa said.

"definitely because you need a shower first" Sam laughed.

"why don't you go and get some sleep baby, you must be exhausted" Maskwa said.

"I want to stay with you" Sam replied

"ok let me put more logs on the fire" Maskwa said and the pair held each other until someone came to cover for them and after breakfast they both went to bed and slept in each others arms.

Over the course of the next two weeks, Raz and Pon became better acquainted with Sam and Maskwa and they felt confident that Sam would keep their secrets. The village people continued to pull together and took care of each other even though they were getting fed up.

Maskwa and Sam had ridden up to the resort twice and they were in the same situation, they were fed up but hanging in there.

There was very little furniture left at the resort because they had been burning it to keep warm but the good news was that no one had fallen ill.

Exactly eighteen days after Sam had led the rescue party up the mountain, the snow stopped falling and the sun peeped out like a naughty child who knew they were in deep shit.

Two hours later a couple of black hawk helicopters flew overhead and Kiri was true to his word.

 All the resort guests were transported back to the airport and they were flown home in the KJ industries private jet where Kiri had ambulances waiting to take them to their local hospitals to get checked out at his expense.

The black hawks needed to make two journeys and then took provisions back up to the resort for the people who were staying there to help with the clean up. Kiri and Chit decided to stay and asked Kan and Paitoon if they wanted to go back to Thailand but they decided to stay as well. 

Finally, Kiri sent the rescue helicopters down to the village and flew the majority of the village people up to the resort where they would be able to have hot showers and better shelter for the rest of the winter.

Some had to stay at the village to care for the horses so Kiri had the helicopters drop provisions, sleeping bags, more water and more food and Chit got in touch with his buddies at the the military surplus and managed to acquire heavy duty tents and bunk beds, an industrial size tent for the horses, chemical toilets, camping gas stoves for cooking, a couple of privacy tents and a couple of camping showers and the best part was that the military donated them for free.

Maskwa and Sam decided to stay down at the camp for the first few days, they figured they had a lot of catching up to do and for what Maskwa had in mind they needed complete privacy so after they'd had help pitching the tent for the horses, the pair made sure the horses were all ok and that they were completely alone before trying out the showers then they shut themselves away for several hours until they heard dogs yapping outside.

It was Raz and Pon who had sneaked out of the resort to give their wolves a run and after borrowing a couple of blankets to cover themselves they spent a little while chatting.

"we need to go back to Thailand soon, we're supposed to be in Vietnam right now" Raz said.

"Vietnam, what are you going there for?" Sam asked.

"my work, I'm a geologist" Raz said.

"yeah and Oon will be wondering what the hell is going on" Pon said.

"serves him right" Raz said.

"anyway, we just wanted to say goodbye but we'll definitely be back and next time I'll bring my equipment to take some rock samples and record the seismic activity, I should be able to give you some idea of when another quake might happen and I'll also set up some kind of warning system" Raz said.

"that would be awesome, thank you Raz" Maskwa said.

"we should go before someone finds our clothes up there" Pon said.

"yeah, stay safe you guys and you have our contact details" Raz said

"yeah and don't be having any orgies without us man!" Pon started laughing.

Everyone looked at Sam who pouted then started laughing and the four friends hugged each other then Raz and Pon shifted back into the wolves and set off back up the mountain.

"I guess we should go and check on the horses" Sam said.

"just another hour baby" Maskwa said pulling Sam back inside the tent and lowering the blanket which acted as a flap.
