Chapter 16 ~ on a mission ~

Start from the beginning

"fucking hell toonie, I swear to god!" Sam said

"the earthquake triggered an avalanche, witnesses say it went down in the direction of the village" Paitoon said, there was no way to soften the blow.

Sam sat on the bottom of his bed, shock evident in his face as he clutched the shirt he was just about to stuff into his bag.

"there's no time for this bro' get dressed and I'll pack your bag yeah" Paitoon said.

"yeah, ok thank's toonie" Sam said as he dressed quickly in mismatched socks, jeans, a shirt and a warm sweater then he grabbed his boots and thick winter coat, gloves and a beanie hat.

"where's your passport" Paitoon asked as Sam walked around in a daze.

"Sam, pull yourself together bro' Maskwa needs you"

"you're right, shiyaa, passport, yeah it's in the cupboard over there" Sam replied grabbing his wallet, cell phone and charger, there was nothing else he needed.

Most of his clothes were already packed ready for the flight he had booked for the weekend.

"ok, we're good yeah?" Paitoon said as he zipped up the bag and looked around the apartment.

"yeah" Sam replied looking around.

"come on then, Chit's downstairs waiting" Paitoon said as he pretty much dragged Sam out of his apartment.

Within the hour they were boarding the KJ Industries private jet and found Kiri and Kan Junphanatat already on board and another hour later they were on their way to North America.

The flight crew served breakfast but everything was like cardboard to Sam, it wasn't supposed to have been like this. He had planned to enjoy his last evening having dinner with Paitoon whilst reminiscing about the past then he would go back to his apartment and spend his last few hours there saying his goodbyes to his apartment and to Thailand.

Now he was sat on Kiri Junphanatat's private jet heading to North America and he had no idea what he was going to find when he got there?

"you have to eat something Sam" Paitoon said softly as he reached across and patted his arm.

"I can't toonie" Sam replied.

It was a twelve hour flight but it felt as if it took days to finally arrive at the only airport where they were allowed to land. Kiri's captain had been lucky to even be allowed entry into their airspace due to the appalling weather which apparently hadn't been this bad in twenty five years.

Once landed they made their way through customs and Kiri noticed another couple being escorted through customs,

"what's wrong baby?" Kan asked him following his gaze to the two men.

"nothing Kan, I just wondered what they are doing here?"

"who, those guys over there, do you know them?" Kan asked.

"we've not been formally introduced but the tall guy, he's the KRITOIL heir, Raz Pasanarit but I don't know who the other guy is?" Kiri said.

"you mean they're from Thailand?" Kan asked.

"yeah, now why would the son of Krit Pasanarit be right here, right now?" Kiri mused.

"maybe they're here on business or maybe they're just visiting friends?" Paitoon offered.

"all the ordinary flights have been cancelled due to the weather which means he must have flown in on their company jet the same as us" Kiri said.

"look, this is all very interesting but can we just get up there ... please" Sam snapped then felt guilty because without Kiri's generosity he wouldn't have been able to get a flight.
