Pulling the horses to a stop beside his house he climbed out of the saddle and tied his horse up and spoke before going inside to find Sam.

"I'll be back in a minute you two"

Maskwa went inside not bothering to take off his boots, he was too anxious to worry about dirtying the wooden flooring

He walked into the kitchen and through to the lounge before seeing Sam laid on the couch in front of the fire and he was fast asleep.

"Sam baby ... wake up, I'm home" Maskwa said as he gently shook Sam.

"mmm ..."

"baby wake up" Maskwa repeated.

"Mmmaskwa" Sam moaned as he slowly woke up.

"I'm home baby" Maskwa smiled.

"Maskwa!" Sam sat up quickly and threw his arms around Maskwa's body pulling him into a tight embrace then Maskwa pulled Sam's face up and kissed him soundly.

"I missed you so much" Sam pouted.

"I missed you too baby" Maskwa replied.

"did you get your business attended to?" Sam asked him.

"I did, do you think you could just come outside to help me?" Maskwa asked him.

"sure ..." Sam said standing to get his boots and coat.

When they both reached the door, Maskwa placed his hands gently over Sam's eyes before leading him outside then at the right moment he uncovered them.

"I don't understand ... what's going on Maskwa and whose horse is that?" Sam said looking around.

"she's yours baby" Maskwa said smiling as Sam's eyes turned into saucers.

"mine? she's for me?" Sam asked.

"she's all yours baby, she's slightly over three years old and she's waiting for you to give her a name as pretty as she is" Maskwa said.

Sam didn't say anything, he was in complete shock and Maskwa was beginning to think he had fucked up when he saw the tears rolling down Sam's cheeks.

"Sam baby, are you ok?" he asked.

Sam nodded while still looking at the horse in a trance.

"baby, please say something" Maskwa said.

"I don't know what to say, she's the most beautiful, precious gift anyone has ever given me" Sam said.

"will you help me to put them to bed, they're both pretty tired and hungry" Maskwa said as he untied the palomino and handed the rope to Sam.

"hey pretty girl" Sam crooned and the horse whinnied as if enjoying the attention.

Both men led their horses inside the small paddock then rubbed them down with straw before gently brushing them with a soft bristled brush then Sam helped Maskwa feed all three horses as Maisie was looking on curiously and gave them all fresh water.

Maskwa and Sam stood watching the new horse for several minutes before Maskwa spoke.

"well then, do you like her?"

"she is beautiful" Sam replied.

"what are you going to call her?" Maskwa asked.

"she's sweet and pretty and she reminds me of a cup of my favourite coffee, I'm going to call her Caramel Latte and I'll call her Cara for short" Sam smiled.

"that is so cute and so you baby" Maskwa said.

"Maskwa, is she the reason you've been on the phone a lot these past few days?" Sam asked.

"yes, I've been planning it with my old friend but unfortunately I had to go and pick her up because my friends wife is almost ready to give birth" Maskwa replied.

"I thought ..."

"what baby?"

"I thought you were tired of me and you were flirting with someone else, you would speak in your own language when I came into the room and you would be laughing and smiling" Sam said.

"fuck baby I'm so sorry, I didn't think how it would look to you, will you forgive me?" Maskwa asked.

"you're forgiven, she is beautiful" Sam said.

"so how about we leave Maisie and my boy to get acquainted with Cara and I'll take you inside, it's about time I showed you just how much I care about you" Maskwa said.

"I'd like that" Sam replied blushing.

"then follow me baby, it's been a long day and your man needs some lovin" Maskwa said gently tugging Sam back in the direction of the kitchen door.
