"I can't think if you're badgering me" Maskwa replied.
"ok, sorry I'll shut up"
"this magazine you talked about, is it published all over the world?" Maskwa asked him.
"pretty much but it's most popular in Asia, if you're worried about any aspect of it I'll do my best to allay your concerns" Sam replied.
"I'm not really concerned but if I say yes and I don't like the photographs, can I change my mind afterwards?" Maskwa asked.
"at the end of the day you'd be doing everyone a favour and because you're not contracted to anyone, no one can hold you to anything so if you change your mind there shouldn't be a problem as long as you don't sign anything ...
the photographs are something you would need to discuss with the photographer though because that's between you and him but I think he'd be ok about deleting them if you don't like them" Sam said.
The pair got back to Maskwa's house and his mother asked them what was going on?
"one of their models has had an accident" Maskwa replied.
"your son is missing the important part out though ma'am, we've asked him to stand in for that model, he's got the kind of look that we need"
"really? my son the supermodel" she smiled.
"your son what?" Maskwa's father walked into the room and his mother repeated the news.
"Maskwa ... a supermodel hahaha" his father laughed.
"it's not that funny nipâpâ, what, you think I couldn't do it?" Maskwa replied.
"I never said that boy!" Maskwa's father replied.
"no but your laughing sure implied it"
"I'm sure he didn't mean ..." Sam began,
"call your people Sam, tell them I will do it but I want to see the pictures first just like we discussed" Maskwa said before stomping upstairs with Sam on his heels.
"Maskwa, if you're going to do it we need to go back, the photographer will need to do some test shots"
"ok, just give me five minutes" he replied storming into his room to sit at the foot of his bed.
'what the hell did I just agree to?' he thought to himself as he stared down at the rug before taking a deep breath.
He was sick and tired of his father looking down on him, he would show him once and for all that there was something he could do other than getting drunk and sleeping all day.
Slipping out of his coat he went into his bathroom and splashed water onto his face to wake himself up, he hadn't got to bed until after 2.30am and he was exhausted but he had to man up especially now that he'd agreed to do it.
After grabbing his coat he went back downstairs to find Sam waiting for him then they both went back out and returned to the other house and as soon as they climbed the steps to the porch the photographer ran outside.
"I'm so excited, thank you so much for agreeing" he said to Maskwa.
"no worries, let's just get on with it"
"first thing is hair and make-up" Sam said.
"listen, I know you said to leave his hair alone but can I just trim the dead ends off? the stylist asked Sam.
"only the ends, keep his length" Sam ordered.
"shiyaa dude, you sound like his agent" the make-up artist laughed.
