"Venice! No matter what happens, never open your eyes!" I hear a scream coming from Rhavi. I shut my eyes even tighter, gripping on to the hand that remained since the beginning, before we were even falling.
And yes. We are currently falling.
"Let's communicate using pixies!" I hear someone shout, which I'm guessing to be Val. His voice started drifting far away as well, and that fact scared me.
I screamed at the top of my lungs. I am scared, terrified even. Just what did I get myself into?!
Am I going to die? Is this how I die? My mind started to wander off on bad thoughts. I am starting to lose myself.
"Listen carefully, princess." I felt like my heart was in my throat. "The moment we land on Mount Olympus, all of us will be separated from each other. We will take on different roles." That terrified me even more.
But I still nodded, becoming even more panic-stricken than I ever was. "I'm going to be left alone? Right? Is that what you mean?" In this world that I literally have no idea what is to begin with?
"I know this is all tough on you. I shouldn't have allowed you to train. I should have pushed you away. You were supposed to leave. Unscathed."
A tear slipped from my already closed eyes. But gentle hands removed them for me.
"I will find you." was the last thing I heard from him.
With my eyes shut tight, my other senses were heightened up. They were even more sharpened than before. I was hyper aware of my surroundings, and as of the moment, I feel like I'm stuck in a never-ending loop of falling. I tried to grab on to something, but I couldn't for some reason, which means I'm still inside this trance.
Then I felt like my soul pummeled into something, causing me to finally flutter my eyes open. I have a massive headache, and I feel like throwing up so bad.
Light.
"Too bright..." I rubbed my eyes with the back of my hand. Slowly, I ran my gaze to the place as I sat in front of a huge vanity mirror. I stared at my reflection from the mirror. My ash grey hair is in an updo with a gold leaf designed headband in them. I was wearing a white chiton with golden linings as well.
"Ah... there you are, Venice, dear." A woman who seemed to be in her late 50s greeted me with a smile. I didn't even notice her presence coming into the room.
"Do... Do I know you?" visible panic was etched into my voice.
"Don't fret now, dear." The old lady chuckled softly. She was very modest. "Come now, I've already told you about this countless times, it's only a friendly date." she then moved to my direction and gently grabbed my hand.
Confused, I look at her. But then I suddenly remembered Rhavi's words before we barged to training.
What do you usually feel when you read a book?
Awareness started to consume every fiber of my being.
We get to live thousands of different lives.
I'm inside a book, which means... I'm currently living a different life!
As the old lady guided me outside of the room, one thing kept ringing in my mind. If I'm living another life... then am I in a parallel universe?
Why do I have the same face, the same memories, the same body, and the same soul if I wasn't in a parallel universe?
What greeted me when I exited the room was a tavern.
