The moon hung low and full over the European village, casting an eerie glow on the dilapidated buildings. Ada Wong moved like a shadow through the narrow alleys, her red dress a stark contrast to the gloom around her. The mission was simple enough: retrieve a sample of the Las Plagas parasite. Simple, if not for the horde of infected villagers, mutated monstrosities, and a determined U.S. agent named Leon S. Kennedy.

Ada knew the risks. She always did. But this time, the stakes felt higher, and it wasn't just because of the mission. There was someone else in the village, another presence she couldn't quite shake—a fellow covert operative named Y/N.

Y/N had been a name whispered among mercenaries and spies, a ghost of sorts, much like herself. Their paths had crossed briefly in the past, their interactions marked by a mix of professional respect and mutual wariness. Tonight, however, would change everything.

Ada was perched on a rooftop, observing the chaos below with her binoculars. Leon was making his way through the village, systematically taking down enemies with precision. She couldn't help but smirk. He was good, but he was also a distraction.

A flicker of movement in her peripheral vision made her tense. She turned swiftly, only to relax when she recognized the silhouette—Y/N.

"Fancy meeting you here," he said, his voice a low murmur that sent a shiver down her spine. He was dressed in black tactical gear, blending seamlessly into the night.

"Y/N," Ada replied, lowering her binoculars. "What brings you to this charming locale?"

"Same as you, I imagine. The Las Plagas sample," he said, stepping closer. His eyes, dark and intense, never left hers.

"Should have known," Ada said with a slight smile. "The village is swarming with infected. It's not going to be easy."

Y/N nodded, his expression serious. "Then it's a good thing we're not the easy type."

The pair moved through the village with practised stealth, their movements synchronized as if they had trained together for years. They encountered resistance, of course—villagers whose eyes glowed with the malevolent light of the parasite. But together, they were a force to be reckoned with.

In one particularly narrow alley, Ada and Y/N found themselves cornered. The infected closed in, their growls and shuffling steps echoing off the walls. Ada fired her grapple gun, pulling herself to a higher vantage point while Y/N laid down covering fire. From above, she rained bullets on their attackers, clearing a path for Y/N to climb up and join her.

As the last of the villagers fell, Ada reached out a hand to help Y/N up. He took it, their fingers briefly intertwining. For a moment, they stood there, breathing heavily, the adrenaline of the fight coursing through them.

"Thanks," Y/N said, his voice rough. "Nice shooting."

"You too," Ada replied, her eyes locking onto his. The tension between them was palpable, a mix of danger and undeniable attraction.

They made their way to the church where Leon had already gone inside to rescue Ashley. Ada knew it was only a matter of time before he encountered more of Saddler's monstrosities, and she needed to secure the sample before things got too chaotic.

As they entered the church, the eerie silence was broken only by the soft creak of the old wooden floors beneath their feet. They split up, searching for clues or any sign of the Las Plagas sample. Ada found herself in a dimly lit chamber, the walls adorned with ancient symbols. She ran her fingers over a carved relief, lost in thought.

"Find anything?" Y/N's voice brought her back to the present. He was standing in the doorway, his eyes scanning the room.

"Just some old church relics," Ada replied, turning to face him. "Nothing useful."

Y/N stepped closer, his gaze intense. "We'll find it. We always do."

There was something in his voice, a certainty that made her believe him. For a moment, they stood there, the weight of their unspoken words hanging between them.

The search continued, leading them to an underground passage beneath the church. The air grew colder, and the sounds of the village above faded away. Ada and Y/N moved cautiously, their flashlights cutting through the darkness.

In the depths of the passage, they found a laboratory. It was a stark contrast to the rustic charm of the village above—sterile and cold, filled with advanced equipment. And there, in the centre of the room, was what they had been looking for: a sample of the Las Plagas parasite.

Ada approached the sample, her heart pounding. She reached out to take it, but Y/N's hand on her arm stopped her.

"Wait," he said softly. "It's too easy."

She nodded, understanding his caution. They scanned the room, looking for any hidden traps or security measures. Ada's eyes fell on a small, inconspicuous device near the sample.

"Tripwire," she said, pointing it out. "Good catch."

Y/N disabled the trap with practised ease, and Ada carefully retrieved the sample. As she held it in her hands, she felt a sense of triumph—but also a growing awareness of the man standing next to her.

They made their way back to the surface, the sample secured. The village was quieter now, the threat momentarily subdued. Ada knew their paths would soon diverge again, each of them bound by their own missions and secrets. But for now, they had this moment.

On a secluded rooftop overlooking the village, they paused. The moonlight cast a silver glow on everything, making the scene almost surreal. Ada turned to Y/N, her expression softening.

"Thank you," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "For everything."

Y/N stepped closer, his eyes searching hers. "You don't have to thank me, Ada. We're in this together."

For a moment, time seemed to stand still. The world around them faded away, leaving just the two of them and the unspoken connection that had grown stronger with each passing moment. Ada blinked up at Y/N, her hand finding the hem of his mask and pulling it down. Without thinking, Ada leaned in, her lips brushing against Y/N's. It was a tentative kiss at first, filled with hesitation and uncertainty. But then, it deepened, a mixture of passion and longing that neither of them could deny.

When they finally pulled away, they were both breathless, their foreheads resting against each other.

"We'll meet again," Y/N said softly, his voice filled with promise.

Ada nodded, a small smile playing on her lips. "Count on it."

As the first light of dawn began to break over the village, Ada and Y/N parted ways. She watched him disappear into the shadows, knowing their paths would cross again. The mission was far from over, and the dangers they faced were only beginning. But in that moment, Ada felt a sense of hope—a rare and precious thing in their line of work.

She turned, her red dress fluttering in the morning breeze, and made her way back into the village. There was still much to be done, but for the first time in a long while, she didn't feel alone.

Ada Wong was a lone wolf, a master of deception and survival. But now, with Y/N in her thoughts, she knew she had found something worth fighting for. Something worth coming back to.
