Ariel Rose (formerly known as Samson Moonfall): a 13 year old herm boy with white blonde hair and mismatched (one blue one green) eyes. He is one of the main characters of this series. He is the son of Akana and Phoenix Rose. He was taken and raised by Silas Moonfall who saved his life by doing so. He shows signs of a bad anxiety disorder. He is also a wizard that uses rare hand magic that's useful in both hands. Even as a herm (physically both genders), he identities as a boy. He loves sheep.
Alyssa "Ally" Rose: a 13 year old girl with blonde hair and bright yellow eyes. She is one of the main characters in this series. She is a second born twin and daughter to Akana and Phoenix Rose. She is very sweet, but also very spoiled. She can be dense at times, but makes friends easily. She has also been chosen to be a student of light.
Jason Hill: a 17 year old young man who is in his second year of being a teaching assistant. He has brown hair and light teal eyes. A close family friend to the Rose's, he is the godfather of Ally and one of Ariel's best friends. He is very friendly and caring, but also firm when need be. He picks up on more than people think which is how he was the one who figured out Ariel's true identity
Silas Moonfall: a man in his late thirties with dark brown hair and black eyes. He is the dean of the school of the dark arts and a professor. His family is called "evil", but whether he actually is, who knows? His pride gets in the way a lot. He has plenty of mistresses though it isn't seen as bad. Even after taking Ariel as a baby, he wasn't punished because he saved the boy's life by doing so. He is hated for it by Phoenix especially, not that he cares
Phoenix Rose: a young man in his early thirties with wild light blonde hair and teal eyes. He is married to Akana and the father of Ally and Ally. He is very protective of his family especially after one of his children went missing and can be hotheaded at time, but he is also very sweet and goofy when he wants to be. He is left handed and because he's better with numbers, he is better with potions.
Akana Rose: a young man in his early thirties with long black hair and honey-colored eyes. Although he is a herm and identities as male, he can bear children and has had a set of twins. He can't use a wand, but uses rare hand magic. He is still very traumatized from the kidnapping from his firstborn and is afraid of having anymore children.
James Lador: looking to be in his twenties, he has red hair and strange purple eyes. He was born half vampire and half wizard before he was turned into a vampire by his mother to save his life. He is a perfect gentleman and friendly. Old friends with Phoenix as they went to school together
Moyasu "Mosu" Yuki: a mysterious demon who looks to be in his late twenties. He has black hair, purple eyes, and red and black horned wings. He is also of Asian descent and seems to be a special type of demon.
Neil: a man who appears to be in his thirties and James' guard. He has reddish hair and green eyes with slitted pupils. He is a mysterious fellow and takes his job very seriously.
The Dark One: a mysterious being who seems ageless. With mismatched eyes (one deep crimson and one crystal blue), they control shadows and even can become one. They have an unknown minion that is in the school now as a student and knows Ariel is the firstborn twin they've been looking for but failed to kill him at the end of last semester
Danny Gray: a 13 year old boy with dark hair and gray eyes. Ariel's roommate and Ally's friend. He is friendly and great with his studies. He means well and has made friends with Ariel even if he doesn't talk much. A student of light
Brandon Young: a 13 year old boy with curly brown hair and dark blue eyes. He is very charming and friendly and seems to have more than just friendly feelings for Ariel. A student of the dark arts.
Crystal "Chris": a 13 year old girl with white hair and red eyes. One of Ally's roommates. She is shy and quiet and loves seal pups. Very academically smart. A student of light
Scarlet "Scar": a 13 year old with wild red hair and red eyes. One of Ally's roommates. She is loud and hyper, but means well. She's amazing with making potions. Love bunnies. A student of light
