Risa's POV
"I've experienced a lot of firsts with Leni na eh. We're gonna celebrate our first anniversary nga next next month, to mention our next first, hihihi. I have been so happy with her, Ate. I'm so happy that we finally get to enjoy a lot of new things together as each other's partner." I said as I talk to Ate Leila on the phone.
"Yun na nga! Who would've thought that you and Leni will end up with each other, let alone be able to keep it safe from the public's eye. I'm so happy for the both of you and I can't wait to see what the future has in store for you both." Ate Lei replied.
Ate Lei has been my confidante and well, literally my big sister at work. Ang hirap maging matatag all the time, from my siblings since I was the eldest, to my kids since I became a widow, kahit dito sa Senado since konti lang kami yung members of the minority.
So, Ate Lei really took some extra weight when she and I became close kasi I really depended on her. I go to her whenever I have work troubles and even, personal troubles. So, I am really thankful that I have someone like Ate Leila.
She was also one of the first person to know about me and Leni. Crush ko palang si Leni nu'n, alam niya na kasi nga kinikwento ko sa kanya yung mga moments na kinikilig ako sa poganda kong mahal. Hihihi those were the days na akala ko talaga hanggang "loving her from afar" nalang ako. But well, look at us now.
Ate Lei and I are actually talking about a surprise celeb for Leni's birthday which is amazingly the same month as our first anniversary as couples and I can't believe that we've been together for almost a year now. Sobrang comfortable na namin being in each other's lives, sabagay, comfortable naman kami even before but now, everything feels happier. Not to mention that I get to kiss and hug her anytime without feeling awkward kasi girlfriend ko naman siya.
I was busy playing scenes in my mind of all the things that we've experience together when suddenly...
"Ris? So, ano na yung plan mo for Leni's birthday? Andyan kapa ba? Hello???" Ate Lei was left hanging pala on call kasi nag daydream na ako.
"Hala Ate, Sorry po. Yes po, I'm still here.. Uhmmm so yung surprise party will be scheduled the week in between our anniversary and her birthday para hindi halata. Yung gifts ko po sa kanya, next week na yata e de-deliver. Maraming salamat pala ulit sa pag volunteer na diyan nalang muna itago sa bahay niyo yung mga gifts and decors for the party, Ate. Alam mo naman si Leni, mahilig maglinis at magligpit yun during her pasttime so baka mabuking ako kapag dito sa bahay ipapadeliver. Hehe." I immediately replied.
"Sure naman. No worries kasi, ako bahala magtago ng mga yan. Hmmm... What about the food? Na contact mo na ba yung caterer na nirecommend ko?" Ate Lei asked as I scan through my notes and someone barged in...
"Mahal! You're here lang pala! Hinahanap kita sa CCTV, di kita makitaaa... Love? Palambing naman ako, kakapagod maging bise-presidente." Leni said loudly as she comes closer to me gesturing me to give her a hug.
"Aba naman, ganyan pala magpalambing ang isang Maria Leonor? Kapag inlab nga naman... Oh sige na, Risa, yakapin mo na yan. Bukas nalang natin ituloy yung meeting natin." Ate Lei replied which made Leni froze and blushed.
"Hehe, hello po, Ate Lei. Sorry po di ko alam na nagmemeeting kayo ni Risa. Sorry po sa isturbo." Leni said as she slowly made her way out, feeling embarrassed on what she just did.
"Asusss! Tinawag pa talaga akong 'Risa'. Sige na, Ate Lei. See you bukas po at alalahanin ko muna yung baby ko este si Leni. Hihi Byeeee! Thank you po sa time!" I replied before ending the call and rushing to Leni.
