The morning sunlight poured through the floor-to-ceiling windows, illuminating the sleek and modern interior of the Xi Group of companies. Yang Zhilan was among the other newly accepted employees, eagerly awaiting staff to lead them to their various departments.

Even with the slight cold she has, she wasn't about to miss her first day at work. All she needed to do was take some medicine and wear a nose mask and she was good to go.

Soon a staff from the Marketing Department came and led her and another fellow recruit to the elevator. Yang Zhilan stepped in, her heart pounding with a mix of excitement and nervousness. Even if she was here for a specific reason, this was a significant milestone in her career, and she couldn't help but feel a sense of accomplishment.

Beside her, the other new recruit, a young woman, broke the silence. "You ok? You look a little flushed." she asked pointing to the her nose mask.

" Just a little cold." Yang Zhilan answered shifted the nose mask properly.

" I see. So ,you nervous?" The new fellow recruit continued their small talk with a small smile.

Yang Zhilan returned the smile, her eyes reflecting a hint of anxiety. "Yeah, a little," she admitted. "But I'm also really excited. This is a step in the right direction."

The woman extended her hand. "I'm Wu Shanshan, by the way. Nice to meet you."

Yang Zhilan shook her hand gratefully. "I'm Yang Zhilan. It's great to meet you too. Looks like we'll be teammates, so it's better if we get along early on."

Wu Shanshan chuckled, her eyes sparkling. "Absolutely! I'm glad we are on the same page."

As they continued their conversation, the elevator descended smoothly, carrying them closer to their department.

Finally, the elevator doors opened, and they got out. Then the staff member leading them gestured for them to wait. He made a to an office, summoning the supervisor of the Marketing Department. Yang Zhilan's eyebrows furrowed slightly as she overheard the conversation. The supervisor's name was Xi Jun, and she couldn't help but wonder if he was related to the CEO of the company, Xi Jinwei.

After a brief pause, the door to the supervisor's office swung open, and a young man stepped forward. He exuded an air of confidence and authority that instantly grabbed everyone's attention.

Yang Zhilan guessed he was around her age, which surprised her. She hadn't expected someone so young to hold such a position.

The supervisor's eyes scanned the room, and when his gaze fell upon her and Wu Shanshan. "Welcome," he said, his voice carrying a blend of professionalism and friendliness. "My name is Xi Jun, and I'll be your supervisor here in the Marketing department."

Yang Zhilan's eyes widened in astonishment. The connection between their surnames couldn't be mere coincidence.

Xi Jun continued, addressing the department as a whole. "Today, we have two new additions to our team. This is Yang Zhilan and Wu Shanshan."

The department responded with a chorus of polite greetings acknowledging their presence. Yang Zhilan and Wu Shanshan exchanged bows with their supervisor .

Xi Jun gestured toward their awaiting desks, which stood side by side, separated by a sleek divider.

" Miss Xin?" He called out to the other staff separated by the divider infront of them.

" Yes boss?" The lady answered.

" Can you take care of these juniors for me. Show them around the ropes a bit ok?"
