The early morning sun is shining brightly, casting a warm glow on the lush greenery around me. It's such a calming experience as I make my way to a high-stress job.

Bryan was passed out when I left this morning, and I have a feeling he'll be out for the count for the rest of the day. I'm starting to question my decision to bring him along with me on this new journey. It's becoming increasingly apparent that we're on completely different levels in our lives at this point, and I'm not sure he'll be able to keep up with the pace and requirements of this new chapter.

The second I woke up this morning, I couldn't help but think about the dreams I had last night. While my mind wandered to Bryan for a moment, I quickly realized that my thoughts were consumed with Axel. In my dream, we were living a life together, and it was nothing short of beautiful. I could see us sharing our passion for our respective careers and never making the other feel guilty about spending long hours on a case or working late. We would always have each other's backs and support each other through thick and thin.

As I imagined our life together, I could see him taking me on romantic dates to fancy restaurants where we would indulge in delicious food and wine. I could see us enjoying each other's company while sipping on a glass of red wine and conversing easily. I wondered how he liked his steak cooked. Medium-rare or well-done?

I could already picture myself cooking dinner for him, putting all my love and care into the meal, and watching him enjoy every bite. I could see us spending quiet evenings together, lost in deep conversations about life and love. In my dream, our love was effortless and pure, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of longing for this life to become a reality.

My phone rings pulling me out of my thoughts. The name flashes across the screen and I'm a bit reluctant to answer, Jess knows me too well and I know I will have to tell her what's on my mind. I release a breath and answer the call, preparing myself to spill the beans.

"Good morning!" I try to sound normal but I cringe at the pitchy sound of my voice.

"GUESS WHAT?!?" she screams into the phone making me jump slightly.

I laugh, "WHAT?"

"Okay, if you're gonna be a party pooper then I guess I won't tell you," she says making me laugh harder.

"I'm kidding Jess, what's going on? Another trip with Enrique?"

"Nope, BETTER!" She squeals, "I'M ENGAGED!!!" I pause for a moment, my mouth hanging open.

"Oh my gosh, Jess,"

"Can you believe it, Lina?" she says sniffling and my heart softens. Sure, it was impulsive but, that was Jess' style, I expected nothing less.

"I'm so happy for you!"

"Thank you, Lina, I knew you would be!" my heart swells and I bite my lip from suppressing my tears from falling. Normally I would say it is way too soon but she is my best friend and I know that when she loves, she loves fiercely.
