BETRAYAL

Lana's POV

Girls are often portrayed as weak and soft,

that we couldn't live without these strong men helping us.

But I refuse to be.

I can stand up for myself, especially if I have to.

Agad akong nagpumiglas at tiningnan ng masama si Kiel. "Ano pa bang paguusapan natin? Hindi pa ba malinaw ang sinabi ko kanina? Gusto kong layuan mo 'ko! Iba na lang ang guluhin mo!"

"You heard Lana. Now, stop bothering us." Felix tugged at me once again but Kiel spoke loudly.

"I apologize if my action brought unnecessary problems to you, but I can prove to you that I was falsely accused. Paulo isn't hurt at all. I know where he is. I can bring you there."

I took a moment to consider it. Either Kiel is being honest, or this is a trap. Baka kung saan niya ako dalhin kapag sumama ako sa kanya.

Felix scoffed. "Lana, hiwalay na rin naman kayo ni Paulo. Hindi na importante kung binugbog ba talaga siya o hindi."

However, whether I like it or not, I am already involved if I'm the reason behind it.

Felix was going to get me out of there but I stood my ground. Hinila ko ang kamay ko mula sa pagkakahawak niya pagkatapos ay nilingon ko ulit si Kiel.

"How can I be sure that you're telling the truth?"

He licked his lower lip and ran a hand through his hair. "You just have to trust me."

Tiningnan ko siya maigi. Seryoso ang mukha niya, kabaliktaran ng itsura ni Rios ngayon. That guy was grinning, as though this was all just a game.

Kiel moved to stride in my direction, but Felix used his body to prevent him. Parang nairita si Kiel dahil narinig kong pinatunog niya ang mga kamay niya pero nang sumulyap siya sa akin ay wala namang bahid ng galit ang mukha niya.

"Lana, I will never hurt you." His tone was overly calm and peaceful. Tila hindi nababagay sa tensyon ng paligid namin ngayon.

Felix blocked my view again. Matangkad siya, 5'9" ang height, kumpara sa akin na 5'3" lang.

"You're not fooling anyone here. The likes of you are dangerous."

"But that doesn't mean I'm a danger to Lana..."

Even though I couldn't see his face, I could feel through his words that he was reaching out to me.

Kung tutuusin, tama naman si Kiel. Kahit na ang daming usap usapan tungkol sa kanya, at mga pagbabanta na dapat iwasan ko siya, tuwing nakakasama ko siya, ni minsan hindi naman siya gumawa ng bagay na ikatatakot ko. He was never aggressive, dominant, or rude. In fact, he was just playful, like a child who was extremely bored.
