LESS MISERABLE
Kiel's POV
I was told by a lot of people that I resembled a volcano.
I may seem peaceful outside, but it turns out I am constantly burning inside.
And once I couldn't hide the heat anymore, I would explode violently.
Leaving everyone on my trail, ruined and dead.
"Where'd she go?" tanong ni Rios nang mapansing wala na si Lana sa tabi ko. Bumaling ako sa gawi kung saan ito tumakbo.
"Masyado yatang kinilig, tumakas tuloy."
Rios laughed and rested his arm over the shoulder of the girl who was standing next to him. Titig na titig ito sa kanya. Halos tumulo na nga ang laway kaka-admire sa kaibigan ko.
Most girls are too obvious when they like someone. They're just not very good at hiding their feelings.
"We should go," bored na sambit ko.
"Business as usual," Rios mumbled, nodding his head.
It's time to follow my dad again. Hopefully, this time, I'll catch him.
Tumayo na ako at tiningnan ang cellphone ko, nang mapansin ko ang form ni Lana na naiwan niya pala dito sa table.
"How about you go ahead and I'll meet you at the parking lot? Ibibigay ko na muna ito kay Lana."
"You know I hate waiting. Iwanan mo na lang diyan. Babalikan niya rin 'yan, bro."
Baka mabasa o may magtapon nito. This seems important for her.
"Mag-bonding muna kayo niyang ka-date mo," I joked around, slapping his cheek lightly. Tinabig niya ang kamay ko at napailing na lang ngunit tumalikod na rin at nilandi na ang babaeng katabi niya.
A lot of people tried to approach me, but I ignored them and ran after Lana. Wala pa namang ilang minuto mula nang makaalis siya. She must be somewhere around here.
Mabuti na lang pataas ang lupa ng school nila. The cafeteria's located on a higher hill, making it easier for me to scan the whole place.
Just in luck, I saw her from afar, running towards the gym. Alam ko kung ano ang building na 'yon dahil ilang beses na akong nakapaglaro ng basketball dito, tuwing may laban ang mga school namin.
"Ano na namang trip no'n?" I whispered to myself.
I find it odd that Lana was headed to the back of the gym instead of going inside it. I followed her and was about to call her name when a bright idea entered my mind.
Ngumisi ako at dahan-dahang lumapit sa kanya. Gugulatin ko na sana siya nang marinig ko ang paghikbi niya.
