I justified playing around on Canva by saying it helped me promote my novel and relieved stress in the process. Should I have been reading the Quran rather than making art? Probably. On the other hand, if making art that illustrates a work of erotic mysticism is a form of meditation, was it really a waste of time? Surely not.

I made this "Light It Up Gold for Autistic Pride" tile at the start of April, in response to Autism $peaks' "Light It Up Blue for Autism Awareness" campaign. I am autistic. Like most autistic people, I am not fond of Autism $peaks. The Autistic Self Advocacy Network is a much better nonprofit to support, in my opinion. I like nonprofits that acknowledge me to be a full human being with equal rights and a capacity for self-agency and competency. Just one of those things...
Both "ancilla" and "Magister" are on the spectrum. I don't think I could write intimately about a neurotypical character using the first-person voice if I tried.
