Here's where I started putting more emphasis on merging and layering images, although I still made the occasional collage.
This gallery tile, for instance, is a collage. I liked the idea of putting a gallery on top of a picture of a gallery.

Vampire collage with layered images that will probably require more editing later. I do like how it turned out, though.
Note the presence of the scalpel. My vampires do not have fangs.
