Chapter 20

"So what do we plan to do on our first day as boyfriend and girlfriend?" Tanong sa akin ni Lorcan. Awtomatikong namula ang pisngi ko. Hindi ako sanay sa label na iyon. 

I am somebody else's girlfriend. Astig!

"Ano ba ang ginagawa ng magboyfriend at girlfriend? Tell me." Sumiksik ako sa kanyang dibdib habang nakatulala kami sa two-seater couch sa sitting room.

"Nasty things. They talk dirty. Kiss like there's no tomorrow. Sexy time."

Hinampas ko siya sa balikat. "Hindi muna dapat maulit ang nangyari kagabi. Baka mag-bago ang isip natin tapos nakuha mo na ang lahat sa akin. Pero sabi mo nga, hindi naman ako hot, so palagay ko naman ay safe ako."

Ngumisi siya at nawala ang mata. "You know, when the first scientists thought that the world is flat? I was like them, I first thought yours is flat but it isn't so----"

Napabangon ako at hinampas siya sa balikat. "Sinilip mo?"

His crisp laughter echoed to the whole house. "No. I really passed out. Sayang nga eh."

Sumimangot ako. Hinuli niya ang aking kamay pagkatapos ay mabagal na napailing.

"This marriage will be fun." Aniya.

"We should make this fun." 

"So if this will be boring, you will leave me?"

"If this will be boring, we will apply as astronauts and take our stargazing to the next level."

"That's sounds fun. Or we can try to grow Strawberries in Metro Manila and sell strawberry shakes to schools." Suhestiyon niya.

"Or we could try grow Cherry Blossoms during summer, that's more challenging."

"That's right, get a notebook. We should put that on our bucket list."

"What do you think about Manila Cathedral? Pupwede tayong magpabook ng schedule doon." Tanong ni Granny kinabukasan nang mag-dinner kami sa kaniyang mansyon. She's more than pleased to see us ending up together. The only person who doesn't find our set up weird.

"That's too grand. Masyadong maraming kasya. Konti lang ang kaibigan namin ni Calla, hindi naman buong Pilipinas ang gusto naming naroon." Tanggi ni Lorcan. "In fact, I already booked in Amanpulo for next month's wedding."

"Amanpulo is a lovely place for a wedding! Sabagay, tama ka nga. You don't need to invite your suppliers because this isn't a corporate event, but a wedding. By the way, I've talked to your parents."

Nag-angat ng mukha ni Lorcan at mukhang mas naging interesado doon. "I am sorry, Apo but they said they couldn't come. Biglaan daw kasi."

Bumagsak ang balikat ng aking katabi.

"That's fine. They were never there anyway. And they just don't care."

Kinuha ni Granny ang kamay ni Lorcan. "That is why I am here right? Lorcan, about the the money that you were asking, can we talk about it?"

Tipid na ngumiti si Lorcan at saka umiling.

"Pagod na si Calla, La. Magpahinga na din kayo. We can talk about it some other time." Kinuha ni Lorcan ang kamay ko nang magkibit balikat si Granny.

"Goodnight, Granny!" Masigla akong nagpaalam.

Mabibigat ang naging hakbang ni Lorcan papalabas ng bahay. Dumilim ang kanyang anyo at nakatiim bagang pa.
