"Wait, you just said Maze." The Greenie said, Chuck then looked concerned. "I-I did?" Chuck asked.

"Ya you did." The Greenie said walking towards the exit, he started to step closer to the concrete floor before the eyebrow kid ran over and pushed him so he fell over.

"We really gotta stop meeting like this." The eyebrow kid said with a smug tone, then the Greenie pushed him away and stood back up and some of the other Gladers noticed the commotion and ran over to calm the Greenie down.

"Woah! Hey calm down." Newt said.

"What's wrong with you guys? Why won't you tell me what's out there?" The Greenie asked.

"It's for your own safety, ok. We can't let you leave." Alby said, trying to calm the Greenie down.

"Why not?!" The Greenie said annoyed, right after he said that the corridor behind him started making noise and a huge gust of wind blew past them. Then the exit started to close as the walls connected showing it was a door all along and the Greenie could only look in shock as the doors shut.

Then the eyebrow kid walked up to the Greenie. "Next time I'm gonna let you leave." Eyebrow kid said.

A FEW HOURS LATER

After night fell upon the teens they light some torches and used them to start a bonfire while cheering and some of them started clinking cups together and everyone was laughing and talking together then the Greenie sat down on a log as Newt sat with him.

"Hell of a first day Greenie, here put some hair on your chest." Newt said, handing him a jar with an unknown liquid in it.

The Greenie took a sip before spitting it out coughing. "What is that?" Greenie asked with a hint of disgust. "It's Gally's secret recipe." Newt said referring to eyebrow kid who was currently having a type of wrestling match with another Glader.

"He saved your life today, you know." Newt said.

Greenie didn't look like he cared. "Yeah, well he's still an asshole." Greenie said, clearly not liking Gally.

"Trust me, the Maze is a dangerous place." Newt said, as sounds of what sounded Rocks moving were heard in the distance. "We're trapped here, aren't we?" Greenie asked, having a feeling there's no easy way out.

"For the moment, but see those guys by the fire, that guy in the blue that's Minho. He's the keeper of the runners every day they go out into the Maze. Mapping it out and Memorizing it. Trying to find a way out." Newt said, putting his elbow on the log.

"How long have they been looking?" Greenie asked.

"For three years." Newt said with disappointment.

"They haven't found anything?" Greenie asked.

"It's a lot easier said than done, you hear that noise?" Newt said, referring to the rumbling sound in the distance. "That's the Maze changing every night, it does that." Newt said.

"How's that even possible?" Greenie asked shocked but also a little impressed. "You can ask the people who put us in here if you ever meet the bastards." Newt said smiling.

"The truth is, the runners are the fastest and strongest of us all. And it's a good thing too, because if they don't make it back before those doors. Close they're stuck out there the entire night and no ones ever survived a night in the maze." Newt said.

"Why not?" Greenie asked.

"Well, we call them Grievers. Something the creators made to kill us If we're out there at night, only one person was out there for the night and told us. But he left when no one was looking and the next day we never saw him again." Newt said, then he grabbed the Greenies shoulder.
