I started this book three whole years ago... but now the muhurtham has been set to write it.

I'm kidding.. it's just my lazy undecisive ass...

But I've finally decided a bunch of what I want to write in this story...

So, here we go...

It's just a little drabble but it is something.

An amalgamation of constellations of stars known and unknown, surrounded with millions of  planets brimming with a trillion forms of life, crowded with ruins of dead rocks and everything else that was hidden to the mankind.... all of them march in their places forming the cosmic churning of the Ksheera sagara.

Or perhaps, it's the cosmic churning of the milky sea that keeps the steady march going.

Hari knows!

Who is Hari?

He who is cosmos itself, he who is time itself, he who is above the steady march of creation, for he is it's preserver, he who makes the infinitely vast ksheera sagara a mere sea and rests on it nonchalantly... He is hari.. He is Narayana...

Lakshmi, the only consort of the cosmic ruler, chuckled sympathetically as she looked at Sesha.

Adi Sesha could be anything for his swami, a thousand headed snake, a churn, a throne, an infinite bed... she hoped this out of all wouldn't be too tough on him. Siri smiled and looked at Hari.

"Oh swami... are you sure you won't feel claustrophobic?" she asked as he looked at her with his lotus shaped eyes.

"I should be the one asking you that priye" He said with an almost serious look, "A treasure chest doesn't sound very comfortable."

"Avani's embrace would be anything but claustrophobic"  She replied confidently, it was his bhoo gol after all.

"The same goes for a mother's womb" He parroted.

"Still" Lakshmi dredged on as her eyes developed a glint of rare mischief, "Won't you miss your Sudarshana chakra?"

"Nope" He said with a sweet smirk, "He's going to be my littlest brother."

"Ohh" Siri trudged on, "Well then, let's hope you resist the urge to release him spiraling on enemies out of habit."

"Aha" Hari harrumphed, "that's the thing.. you see.. I won't remember."

"Ah.. I see" Lakshmi smiled again, this was going to be tremendously entertaining.

And thus began the Jagannatakam.

Where the one with no adi, got to experience firsts, first words, first steps, first sights, first lessons.

Where he got to cherish the love of not one but three mothers.

Where he got to revere the guidance of a father.

Where he got to play and practice with his brothers.

Where he could experience a childhood.

Where he was no Narayana, the preserver but only Rama.

A dutiful son to his parents, a loving elder brother to his little brothers, a loyal husband to his wife and a benevolent king to his subjects.

His only weapon was a bow and his only virtue was duty.

Rama was a valiant archer so much so that his shoulders danced in thandavam whenever he used his bow.

Rama was a powerful warrior, so much so that even threatening to end the entire world with a single arrow would not be termed overconfidence or false.

Rama was born a human, whose name later became more pious than any mantra.

Ramayanam is his story.

But Ramayanam is also the story of the god whose Virata swaroopam was literal infinity confined himself to a human form.

It is the story of the swami of sesha, whose ananta shayana was replaced with a small dark womb.

It is the story when he who is time itself bound himself to the rules of day and night.

It is the story of Lakshmi Narayana, who couldn't spend a day away from his Siri, had to live eons separated from her.

It is the story where the mokshapradatha himself had to go through the loss of parents, wife and brothers.

Ramayanam is the epic where Rama denies every time someone calls him Narayana even though he himself told Kaushalya that he is Hari.

The play of plays crafted by the one who is above destiny.

''Aava ginjantha lokam lo Virata swaroopanni daachina jagannataka sutradhari

O hari, evaru nee sari?''

'Hiding the cosmos in you, wearing the disguise of a human on a planet which is nothing but a sesame seed  in your sea..

O hari, who is your equal?'

Ciao

Wow this is small... Like really small.

But koi nai... I needed to get this out of my system just for the last line.

Please do comment and vote, if you like the book.

For all of you who don't know about the title, it's derived from the phrase 'Jaruguthunadhi jagannatakam' and the title, 'Jagannataka sutradhari'.

The title is usually associated with Krishna but it just seemed apt to Rama here.

Here is a keerthana that kinda inspired me,
