"Ah! There you are!" he called out joyously, wincing slightly as his eyes lit up in anticipation.
The heart encased within his chest beat fervently against his ribcage, not missing the boiling fury on her face along with the deepest agony in her precious eyes. A combination that served to make him exhilarated as his tongue darted out to swipe along his lips. Her feet rushed towards him jerking away from Lucas who was trying to hold her down without using force.
Any moment now...
Thwack!
"You monster!" she screamed at the top of her lungs just as her palm connected with his face near his torn lip. "How could you!"
Ethan flinched at the impact, his face whipping to his right at the force of her rage. He hissed, stunned by the impact despite having anticipated the move. A metallic taste invaded his mouth as the torn lip bled anew.
