Mepad walked along the dark road, his soul roaming an unfamiliar place. Shadows of other meeple devices and mascots span around him cooing and chirping. He looked nothing like them feeling so out of place, after all he was a glimmering purple spirit among the unruly shadows of his brethren. He continued walking. Shadows turned to look at him their pixelated expressions outdated and difficult to read. He ignored their soulless glances, walking away from them darting down a dimly lit path presenting itself to him. Soon, large buildings began to tower over him their low-poly shapes being lit by shards of purple and blue light reflecting from who knows where. They surrounded him with the same plane slate, not loaded in properly... maybe something was up with his vision. He had to keep walking. Although everything and everyone here was relatively plain, getting on with whatever mundane errands that they ran, mepad had to admit he did pass the occasional window. Their cold white light glaring down on him. Blinding him but reminding him. He was still alive, wasn't he? He walked past a puddle, his reflection staring back at him with unjustified judgment. Although what interested him the most is that no matter what direction light shone on him, he had no shadow of his own. A large forest stood infront of him. The leaves made of poorly rendered polygons and the tree trunks looked although they had been rendered on MS paint. The dimensions of the forest were wrong, it almost looked unfinished, like the creator had abandoned the work many years ago. Forfeiting their updates to an outdated software that was unable to be salvaged... was that what had happened to him, is that why no one had come to pull him out of this dream? Oh well, he had to press on. There is no point staying in one place if he really is trapped. The objects infront of him blended and warped the way no normal trees would. He pushed on, attempting to see past the thick fog and travel deeper into the forest. The trees bending and snapping in certain directions to create a path for him, almost as if this twisted world was leading him to something. The place began to dissolve around his feet, degrading with every step he took. Mepad marched on, eventually the forest ended. Dark shadows surrounded him, green lines lit his path in a checkered pattern. They weaved tightly together producing a large tunnel. He tried to turn around and run, dread attacking his consciousness, only to find his path had been entirely blocked off. Where the forest one stood, an endless void consumed. There was no going back now. He kept walking although he quickened his pace, it was best not to get caught by whatever beast was pursuing him. The quicker he ran, the quicker the lines closed in on him. He closed his eyes running as fast as he could, he had to escape this hell.
"Wake up." Mepad halted to a stop, freezing in place. Infront of him stood two souls, very similar to his own. One looked similar to his cousin, mephone 4... the one who'd saved him from the hellish grasp meeple had on him. Except this one had a green face and an outdated expression. The other presented itself as a computer with an even more pixelated face, he must be REALLY old. His eyes pierced through mepads soul sending shivers down his spine. Mepad was hopeless looking for any sign of an escape. 'Mechintosh' the red label presenting on the computers chest.
"WAKE UP" the large computer boomed, he jumped. Mepad wasn't used to the loud shouting that most of the older meeple products used. He knew why they did it though. Their voice boxes were all so low quality that they were bearable audible. This usually ment they had to raise their voices in order to get people to listen to them. Mepad looked down as he felt his legs begin to fade. He couldn't scream, couldn't shout but only choke on his tears as he faded away. So this was it.
"Look after them for me." The shorter of the pair spoke out to him, giving a gentle wink as he faded away.
Pale white light blinded mepads optics as he sat up. "HEY, ITS AWAKE! Go get testube or something... I'll keep it busy." He heard some one shout in a pixelated voice. Where was he. And more importantly WHO was that?
