I look up as horse upon horse marches in. Caldina, Levindal, and another woman enter, leading them in. I clench my jaw as I remember the way she took all three of us on. The way her sword flew from one blade to another. I don't know why we are worried, I'm pretty sure Caldina can take on ten witches and be okay.
"Fae, Doryukans, and Witches. I never thought I would see the day that they all allied together," Peter says, coming to stand by my side.
"Same," Anya murmurs, I slide my arm around her waist as the Fae pass us, not trusting them.
"Yet here we are," Cole says, jaw clenching at the sight of Rowan. I watch as Rowan gaze flies over the crowd until he spots us. He breaks away from formation and rides over. He jumps off his horse to stand in front of me.
"Where is she?"
"Where's who?" Cole asks, at the same time I say, "Napping." Anya elbows her brother in the ribs.
"Enough, Cole," she hisses. My grip on Anya tightens as Rowan leans in, canines glinting in the sun.
"I don't know who you are, boy, but I do know that you have caused my mate pain. And for that you deserve to die," he spits out.
"Threatening people already, Rowan?" I look over to spot a Fae female, her red hair seems to shine in the sun. Her blue eyes glint as if sharing an inside joke.
"Go away, Lyra," he snaps. Lyra, the Fae princess. She is a legend told to children. The first female Fae warrior. It was told that she killed a band of thieves to gain her father's approval.
"Lyra," Matthew whispers. "I heard that she killed a wyvern."
"I heard she saved an old woman from wolves only using fire," Aron says, awe in his voice.
"I thought she was a myth," Peter says in disbelief.
"You thought wrong," Lyra says, dismounting.
"Is it true?" Anya questions.
"Yes," she confirms, a smirk on her face. Lyra glances over her shoulder. "Ah there she is. The woman who has my twin brother wrapped around her pretty little finger."
"Shut up, Lyra, or so help me..."
"So help you what, Rowan?" Lyra teases.
"Juliana." Rowan says, ignoring his sister. Lyra just rolls her eyes.
"Ignore my idiot of a brother, Juliana. I'm Lyra, and yes the same Lyra from the stories," she says, nodding at us. Juliana's mouth hangs open in confusion.
"I'm sorry?" Juliana stammers.
"Lyra, Rowan!" Levindal walks over, his black hair hanging in curls around his face. Caldina and a lady are right behind him. I barely contain my gulp when his green eyes focus on me. "Wesley, Juliana." He nods his head.
"Levindal," I say, nodding my head at him.
"I don't believe you've had the pleasure of being properly introduced to my siblings." Caldina says, turning to the woman.
"You!" Juliana says, a water ball forming in her hand. "You wanted to kill me."
"I didn't. That was my queen, but now that I am queen, know that no Doryukan will ever harm you on my watch." The Queen of Doryukans bows to both Juliana and I.
"Believe me Kathrine, no one will hurt anyone under my protection. Not to mention they would have the Fae to deal with too," Caldina adds. At the mention of the Fae, Levindal shoot Caldina a glare. I don't know there back story, but whatever it was I'm pretty I don't want to know.
"I know," Kathrine says, looking over at Rowan, who made his way over to stand by Juliana.
"My warriors will protect Juliana with their lives," Levindal says, standing next to Caldina. "And not because you command them to." He adds softly to Caldina, who just glares back at him.
