Trolls: A New Take

Things Change

Melody was awkward when Poppy addressed her questioningly and then after a deep breath, she clarified.

"I've been fighting to keep my colors for a long long time, Poppy... I haven't been happy in a very long time, I just... felt that I had no choice but to keep this mask of happiness on so that you wouldn't ever be as heartbroken and miserable as I am...."

Poppy, to Melody's utter surprise was very understanding as she answered in song.

[ Poppy , Melody , Both ]

"I didn't know what you
Were going through
I thought that you were fine
Why did you have to hide?"

Melody frowned sadly as she answered sincerely.

"I didn't wanna let you down
But the truth is out
It's tearing me apart
Not listening to my heart"

Poppy smiled happily as she took Melody's hand supportively into her own and began to drag her to dance and sing with her, every other troll giving way to them and watching them.

"I really had to let it go"

"I would never stop you"

"Even though we've changed"

"Nothing has to change"

The two let go of each other briefly to hug during which they continued singing together as Melody spun them around.

Melody put Poppy down and the two broke their hug and went back to dancing together while holding hands as a faded version of Melody's colors came back to her.

"And nothing can stay the same
It's growing pains"

Poppy beamed supportively as she was the one to hug and spin her sister around as she sang.

"Be proud of all the scars
They make you who you are
Oh woah"

"I don't want things to stay the same
But I'll never really leave you"

The two pulled away and Melody and Poppy beamed at each other in perfect understanding as their exchange continued with all trolls watching them in confused amazement.

"Nothing has to change"

"Even though we've changed"

Poppy brought her hands to her chest while Melody brought her arms down to her side relaxedly as they stopped dancing and just stood there allowing for Branch and Celeste to go to their respective best friends.

Melody was the one to react next as she hugged a happily shocked Celeste to her side while Poppy smiled at Branch briefly and pulled him to her side by grabbing his hand.

"There are no words left to say"

"I know you gotta find your place"

"But this is not the end"

"No"

"You're part of who I am"

"Even if we're worlds apart
You're still in my heart
It will always be
You and me"
