"okay so we'll just continue with our parts and maybe we'll finish lily's part next time?" i say as we both take place in his room since they're renovating the kitchen and living room.

"yeah that sounds good." he nods.

an hour later i'm almost done with the text.

"aiden, can you read my text?" i ask.

"you're done?"

"no just want to know what you think."

"aw you care about my opinion?" he sarcastically says.

"yes, soo much."

he chuckles and sits down next to me on the bed.

as he reads through i look at his side profile. his sharp nose, his plump lips and the way his hair falls.

i'll never admit it out loud but he's not bad looking.

what am i saying?

"it's good."

"but....?"

"mine's better." he smirks and i shake my head.

"can we call it a night?"

"sure." he nods and looks at me.

so hold eye contact and his face gets closer to mine.

am i really about to kiss a guy i don't like?

my phone buzzes and my attention moves from aiden to my phone.

i awkwardly cough and look at the text.

josh.miller77 added you!

right.

i look at aiden and he stares at my phone.

"i should leave."

"he's not a good guy. just so you know."

"let me make that decision, okay?" i say annoyed as i pack my things.

he put his hands up in surrender and shrugs.

"wait, before i forget. what was it that you said about alex at the party?" he asks.

"oh never mind, i was still sensitive. he was just surprised that i wanted a burger and talked about how other cheerleaders are a bit healthier, that's all." i shrug.

i feel like i'm not allowed to be hurt by it, because when i talk about it sounds like whatever. but the words hurt.

aiden clenches his jaw a bit and nods.

"daph your dad and i were planning on going away this weekend. from friday to sunday, would that be okay?" my mom says.

"of course!" i say excitedly knowing i could make sophia stay here.

"no parties and no boys though." dad says as he walks into the kitchen.

mom chuckles and shakes her head. dad has always said that i'm not allowed to date until 40.

i look at my phone when it makes a sound from a notification.

josh: hey, what's up?

me: i'm good, how are you?

josh: bored, wanna hang out?

i think about it.

fuck it.

me: sure, let's meet at the mall?

josh: 👍

"so who was the guy that took you away from me that night?" he asks and finishes the rest of his ice cream.

"just my friend's brother." i shrug.

"you have a thing?"

"no no, he's just always looking forward to ruin things for me."

"okay, sounds like jealousy."

aiden being jealous? yeah right.

"my car is near by do you want me to drive you home?" he asks.

"sure." i nod.

when we're in the car he turns to me and i look at him confused.

"aren't you gonna drive?" i ask.

"there's something i want to do before that." he grins and pushes himself closer to me, trying to kiss me.

"oh, i'm not sure i want this." i say uncomfortably.

"what do you mean?"

"i barely know you, i don't want to just kiss you like that."

"are you ever going to want that?"

"i don't know?" i say unsure.

"am i just wasting my time here then?"

"you just wanted me for sex?"

"yeah doesn't everyone?" he asks.

"you're an idiot. no wonder you don't get any girls." i scoff and leave his car, i close the door harshly and walk away.
