The large group of young adults had been at Marks lake house for a week now, and to every single one of them, it was pure joy and pleasure. Even if it meant drinking almost every night, going on the boat all day, and barely speaking to their families, it was perfect to them. Charlotte and Rutger hadn't left each others side, literally. " Can you guys like, not shower together!", Luca exclaimed, stomping out of the room that his sister and friend were sharing.
" Can you like, shut up?", Charlotte asked. Her older brother groaned, Rutger standing behind her awkwardly. " Don't worry about him, especially when he already said he didn't care",
Rutger smiled, nodding at her. " Don't forget, we're going out for dinner tonight",
She nodded, " Everyone?",
" Nope, just us".
Charlotte spent the day hanging out with Olivia outside, going inside to get herself ready for her date with Rutger. She let her hair air dry, putting on a soft pink sun dress that Olivia is letting her borrow. Rutger and her walked to his jeep, driving into the small town where the lake house was located. " The food better be good",
He chuckled, " It will be, don't worry",
Rutger guided the girl inside, his hand on her lower back as the waitress showed them to their seat. Charlotte almost started drooling, the boy getting their table outside and in front of the beach. " Did you have to bribe them for this seat",
" I booked this like", he paused, " Four months ago?",
" What! Rut, that's insane. What if we weren't even, whatever we are, still?",
He scoffed, " Please. You're never getting rid of me, Char",
Charlotte smiled at him, " Wouldn't want too",
After arguing with Rutger about who was paying for dinner, the two decided to walk along the beach before heading back to the crowded house of their friends. " thanks for this, Rut. It means a lot",
Rutger smiled, " We'll do it again sometime soon", Charlotte nodded. Her arms wrapped around his waist as they walked along the warm sand, " Can I ask you something?",
She nodded, Rutger standing in front of her with his hands on her waist. " Go for it",
Charlotte could tell her was nervous, which made her nervous as well. " We've been hanging out for like, 9 months now. Which now that I think about it is a concerning amount of time", he said, furrowing his brows, " But it's probably been the best 9 months of my life",
" Well, mine too",
Rutger chuckled, " Yeah so on that note, will you finally be my girlfriend?",
The girl smiled widely at him, " Yes! Oh my god, I've been waiting for like, 9 months for that question!",
The boy laughed, Charlotte passionately kissing his lips. Rutger couldn't help but smile into the kiss, the girl pulling away. " Since it's been 9 months, I love you so much Rut. I can't even explain it",
" I love you too", he mumbled against her lips.
