Buckle up peeps, we have a long roller coaster coming up.

No trigger warnings in here, hope you enjoy!

Samyukta's POV :
The moment I smacked the door of our Toyota Ertiga close, the car was already on its way. I removed my mask, wiped my face, placed my head back onto the seat, and breathed a sigh I had long held back.

"So, uncle, how do you feel?" it sounded like Tarun, who seemed to adorn a smile on his face. He was the one driving us towards Raniganj, like he would always do.

Saiman uncle was sitting beside me, and I could feel that his whole body was relaxed, I turned to see him shake his head though, weird, turning to look at me, "What are you made of, my lady?".

I still had no words to speak, but I knew what he was implying at. Prithvi was never supposed to be there, never. I pulled at my electrolarynx, switching it off and placing it in the seat pocket ahead me.

The electrolarynx was one our recent most additions to the devices we used. With a slight modification, it could alter our voices to whichever frequency required.

Really lucky that we all had one with us. The plan was to bring the police over, and execute Pritam Chauhan in front of their eyes.

But, of course, the police took time to even register what shit I was speaking, I wasn't surprised they came almost 20 minutes later.

Back-up plan was using a video recorder, we all were dressed hence, with all our modifiers on. But then, there was Prithvi, and I had to change plans as soon as I turned around from the call and realised what I was getting into.

But, it could have been anyone else in this populated city of dreams, but no, it was her. What was God testing me for?

"What is it?", Ayesha spoke up from beside uncle, passing me a bottle of water, "Is that detective still bothering you?".

"Who was it who found her?", I asked them, raising an eyebrow, and I could see all of them look at the seat ahead me, "Were you also the one to tie her to the pole?".

"I should have killed her, believe me", Sanjana spoke casually, casting a horrible look as four pairs of eyes bore into her, "Okay, why the fuck are you all acting like it was my fault I called out a bystander, whom we let go as well, on top of that?".

"Language, Sanjana", I lean forward to put a hand on her shoulder, seeing her face turn stern in the side view mirror, "It's your third mission with us, you're a baby, you can't speak like that".

"Every time I try to impress you by doing something worthy, you scold me, my lady", I made a tutting noise, and she sighed, "Fine, but I'll shut up only if you tell why is that detective walking free?".

"Let her accept my follow first", I say, retrieving my phone from my back pocket and changing my SIM card to the doctor side of me, she still hadn't accepted it. Maybe hadn't received her phone yet.

"My lady?", Tarun asked, looking over his shoulder at me, "Godown or home?".

"Take me home", I hum, sighing softly to keep my doubts away for now. Hopefully, Prithvi doesn't remember my eyes as vividly as I remember hers for some reason.

Hence, as a doctor, I would always wear my glasses, for camouflage. I had always had people whom I never met beforehand as my patients, but my vigilance had increased after Prithvi's boss happened to come in contact with me.

I climbed onto my bed in the dark, sighing as my head hit the pillow, Rati was sleeping soundly beside me. I take my phone from the bedside table, 12:30, midnight.
