"Zara, me and Bahari are going to the market, your father already left for work. Do you wanna tag along or?" My mother lifted the seaweed curtains to my room.

"No, I'll stay here." I picked up my book.

She only shrugged. "Remember your still grounded."

"I know."

She swam away, letting the curtains drop. I let a couple minutes pass before packing my bag up. Heading out the cave, soon being outside the doors of the library.

"Oh! Zara, how are you?" The librarian waved, a smile on her face.

"Good, uhm, Doris, by the way if you see my mom, don't tell her I was here." I said in a small voice.

"Alright. Did you get in trouble?"

"Maybe," I headed towards the section where the books about land were.

My fingers grazed the spines of the books as I walked by, searching for the right ones and studying the books that I took off the shelf. Soon returning to the front counter again, placing the books in front of me.

"That's 32 pearls." I rummaged through my bag, gripping a handful of pearls and handing them to Doris.

"Thank you, have a good day." I waved bye.

"You too, Zara!"

My nose was buried in the books, eyes darting from sentence to sentence.

"Fire? So that's what it was." I whispered to myself, my fingers hovering over the words engraved in the rock.

Once done with that book I move onto the next labeled Pirates.

I read on and on, time becoming nonexistent.

When I was finished reading I was more than tired, eyes heavy and drooping as I made myself comfortable under my blanket.
