"But she cheated!" Caldina whined.
"Did she? A battle is never going to be fair, Cal." Michael said, standing up and walking over to them. "You must to be able to fight back against their magic." And with those words he taught both Sienna and Caldine to be able to fight against magic with only metal.
Caldina went into our house after drawing to Sienna, and as I made my way over to my daughter to discuss her chores, I hear an ear-piercing shriek.
"NORA!" I hear Caldina scream. I rush to her door to find her bleeding from multiple cuts.
"Caldina are you alright?"
"I was attacked by four Doryukans. They were going to kill me, but all of a sudden I felt power like nothing before!" Caldina explains. "Watch this!" she orders, holding up her hand. All of a sudden fire engulfed her whole hand.
I felt the blood drain from my face. "Caldina, listen to me and listen to me well. You must never ever use your power, do you understand me? Never!"
"But..."
"Caldina, fire is the most powerful element; it is also the most dangerous power a witch could ever yield, for after fire spreads it gets too powerful for even the wielder to be able to stop it. You must never use it unless you know you can control it. Do you understand me?"
"Yes, Nora," she vows.
"Good, now let's get you cleaned up."

"Nora, this isn't good," Michael declares, stepping into our cabin.
"What is it?"
"Witches on the border."
"No," I breathe. Had Lunetta somehow found Caldina? A loud bang on the door has me reaching into my power source and shifting into a fighting stance. Michael walks to the door with a sword in his hand. He opens it slowly, "May I help you?"
"Where is she?" one witch asks.
"Who?" Michael returns.
"Shut it human, we know Nora's here," they push the door open, making Michael fly against the wall like he weighs nothing.
"What do you want, Slyvia?" I sigh. Slyvia is the commander of The Five; a notorious group of assassins who kill whoever Lunetta orders them to.
"Where is Evana's child?"
"Not here, as you can see."
"I'm right here!" Caldina shouts from the crowd of people who had begun to gather outside our door. Humans were rather curious people whether it was smart for them to be or not. It runs in their blood. The crowd moves out of Caldina's way. I have a feeling this won't be the last time people hurry to be away from her. Caldina storms up the cabin's steps and stops in front of Slyvia, inches separating them.
"I never knew my mother's name, but I am assuming your queen found out what I could do and sent you here to escort me to the palace," Caldina retorts.
"Watch your tone," one of the assassins barks at Caldina. Caldina just raises an eyebrow. Caldina isn't exactly the tallest witch. Actually, Caldina is considered short for most witches. Most witches are between five foot eight and six foot six. Caldina is about five foot four, yet what Caldina lacks height, she makes up with sass.
"No, let her talk."
"Bad idea, Slyvia," I warn her. It is a very bad idea.
"Tell me, Sylvia..." but Caldina never got to finish her sentence. Slyvia knocked her feet out from underneath her.
