Author's Note: Set right after Nathalie uses the peacock Miraculous for the first time in "Mayura".
Nathalie dropped to her knees as all of the energy seeped out of her.
The peacock Miraculous sat pinned haphazardly to one side of her chest, the sparks flying from it a clear indication that it was broken.
Now, she had to face the consequences of wearing a damaged Miraculous.
She clutched her chest as he lungs burned. This must've been how Emilie felt when she'd worn it.
A coughing fit racked her body. The white Akumas continued to flutter around her, unbothered by her strife.
All the pain was worth it because she'd saved him. Whatever happened now, she could find peace in the fact that Gabriel would be okay.
Any remaining strength left her and she fell to the floor, the hard metal a cold comfort against her cheek.
Soon enough, she heard the mechanics of the elevator. A hurried curse sounded, followed by footsteps, and then hands were on her shoulders.
She was eased into Gabriel's arms, her eyes half-lidded.
"Nathalie," he whispered, "what have you done?"
