"Oh, goodness," Annabeth breathed, her eyes wide with amazement. "This place is ..."

"Sweet," Clarisse interjected, finishing Annabeth's thought.

We marveled at our surroundings, taking in the opulence of the room and the incredible view. The fact that we had a room like this in a casino was beyond my wildest dreams.

As we settled in, I couldn't help but notice that the clothes in the closet were a perfect fit for me, as if they had been tailored specifically to my size. It was a little strange, but I pushed the thought to the back of my mind for the moment.

After a refreshing shower and a change of clothes, I returned to the common area to find Clarisse happily munching on potato chips, Annabeth engrossed in a National Geographic documentary.

"All those stations," I commented, bemused. "And you turn on National Geographic. Are you insane?"

"It's interesting," Annabeth defended her choice.

Clarisse, with her mouth full, chimed in, "I feel good. I love this place."

The mood was decidedly more relaxed than before, a stark contrast to the tension of our recent encounters. We had almost forgotten the pressing concerns of our quest, at least for now.

"So, what now?" I asked, my curiosity getting the better of me. "Sleep?"

Annabeth and Clarisse exchanged mischievous glances before simultaneously holding up their green plastic Lotus Cash cards.

"Playtime," they declared in unison, their eyes filled with excitement and anticipation.

"You guys go, I need to do something." I responded. Clarisse and Annabeth shrugged and left the room and I sat on the bed, before calling out. "I know that you three are watching me, come out right now."

Three flashes appeared in the room and before me stood the fates, they bowed and spoke at once.. "Our Lord, what can we do for you?"

"Do you know where we are at?" I asked. Already knowing the answer.

"At the Lotus Hotel," Clotho said. "The hotel has time dilution properties, where a few hours is actually a few days."

"Good, so tell me what room are my siblings in?"

"The children of Hades are in the first floor Penthouse and the daughter of Poseidon is in room 315."

"A daughter of Poseidon?" I was confused.

"Yes, she is from 1943, she is currently 9 years old." Lachesis answered.

"I see." I mutter, this changes a lot. "Thank you. You may go, and next time don't disguise yourself as my principal."

"We understand." They bowed and left. I stood and went to explore the casino, I was already here so why not have some fun? I couldn't resist trying out various games and activities. I bungee-jumped in the lobby five or six times, raced down the waterslide, snowboarded on the artificial ski slope, and engaged in virtual-reality laser tag and FBI sharpshooter simulations. I spotted Clarisse a few times, darting from one game to another, particularly enjoying those RPG games where she waged war against entire kingdoms single-handedly. Annabeth, on the other hand, seemed engrossed in trivia games and other brainiac challenges. There was this massive 3-D simulation game where players could build their own cities, and she appeared completely captivated by it, overseeing holographic buildings rising on the display board. Personally, it didn't pique my interest much, but it seemed to be Annabeth's idea of paradise.

Throughout my time at the casino, I couldn't help but maintain a vigilant eye for anything suspicious. Despite the distractions and the allure of the games, my demigod instincts kept me on edge.
