You beautiful thing, you
Inhabiting the corners of my mind,
Cursed my lips into chanting
Only your name, like a prayer -
Devoting my heart to your hoax.
Candles on altars in its chambers,
Contesting my pacemaker,
Faster when I see you
Then stops with your touch -
Resuscitated by your kiss.As if I've finally figured out
The reason for my existence -
It is to love you, my beloved,
Like the sun to the moon,
Sharing its light even when unrequited.
Like I am to the moon,
Admiring it from a distance.Even if I know you'd be gone
At the break of dawn,
I love you -
Still, and in spite of.
