After the scene played out, Stefan, Elena, Aurora, Simone, and Alaric are in Stefan's bedroom. Stefan is finishing drinking a blood bag before he looks at Simone.
"Thank you. Both of you." Stefan states appreciatively.
"Yeah, well, we'll be downstairs." Alaric nodded before him and Simone left the room leaving the two girls and Stefan alone to sit on Stefan's bed.

"How could he do that to me? Why?" Aurora wondered in disbelief.
"Hey. We've never talked about this. What this all means." Stefan realized
"It doesn't matter." Aurora dismissed
"Of course it matters. Hey. It matters. I want you to go somewhere with me." Stefan suggests
"Stefan, I can't." Aurora sighs glancing at Elena knowing the sacrifice was right around the corner.
"No, no, it's not far, okay? It's just for the day. I promise. It's something I want both of you to see." Stefan pleaded making the girls exchange glances before agreeing.

The trio then began their walk in the woods up the side of a mountain.
"Where are we?" Elena wondered curiously as her gaze scanning the breathtaking view before them.
"It's a surprise. Just a little bit longer," Stefan replied, his tone gentle yet filled with anticipation.
"I'm not a vampire yet, you know. My legs still get tired." Aurora spoke up knowingly.
"Ready to talk about how you're feeling about all this?" Stefan asked concerned turning to her, his eyes filled with understanding.

"Uh...this morning I was wondering if Elena would live or die, and now...I'm going to be a vampire. I...I don't really know how I'm feeling." Aurora recalled in hesitation before the continued their journey which led them to the foot of the waterfall, where the roaring cascade drowned out their thoughts. Aurora gazed in awe at the natural wonder before her, the beauty of the moment a fleeting distraction from the turmoil within.

"I think you do know how you feel. I just want you to know that it's okay to tell me," Stefan's voice broke through the roar of the waterfall, his eyes searching hers for a glimpse of understanding.
"I can't. Stefan, I just...I can't talk about it," Aurora confessed, her words weighed down by the burden of her uncertainty.
"Well, if you don't want to, that's your choice. Today's about you. But...It's a long way to the top. Let's go. You never know what might come up." Stefan nodded, respecting her boundaries yet silently offering his support.

"We're climbing all the way up to the top?" Elena inquired surprised making Stefan smile.
"Oh, yeah." Stefan nodded in agreement
"Well, can't you do one of your super power vampire jumpy things?" Aurora questioned
"No, it's your last day as a human. Why cheat now?" Stefan shrugged making Aurora smile at Stefan before the trio continued with determination in their hearts and began the arduous climb up the rugged terrain, the spray of the waterfall cooling their skin as they ascended. Conversation flowed between them, a mixture of light-hearted banter and unspoken fears shared amongst friends.

"I guess Bonnie will have to teach me how to make a daylight ring." Aurora hummed knowingly
"Yeah, piece of cake." Stefan shrugged
"And you will never be able to watch "Bambi" again." Elena pointed out resulting in Aurora to cringe in thought.
"I definitely wouldn't recommend doing that." Stefan chuckled lightheartedly

"What's the best part about being a vampire?" Aurora inquired curiously
"Ahh. You feel like you could do anything. Be anyone. Beautiful things are more beautiful. Everything's heightened, you just live more intensely, love more powerfully." Stefan informed glancing at Elena knowingly making her smile bashfully.

"And the worst?" Aurora wondered
"Ah, you know the worst." Stefan sighed
"Aside from the blood?" Elena added making Stefan stop and glance at Elena before turning to Aurora.
"Anger becomes rage. When you're sad, you're in despair. Grief. Loss. It can cripple you. That's why so many of us turn our emotions off. It just becomes...Too overwhelming. You know, for a while, for me, the good just wasn't worth the bad." Stefan explained

"How long before you learned to handle both?" Aurora asked curiously
"Well, I'm still trying. Every day. What else?" Stefan wondered
"Let's just keep going. We're not even halfway to the top." Aurora suggested before starting to walk ahead of the duo, taking in her surroundings. As they reached the summit, the world stretched out before them in a breathtaking panorama. Aurora's breath caught in her throat as she took in the expansive view, her mind momentarily free from the weight of her impending transformation.
