S3E5||HEAVEN OR LAS VEGAS

"Yeah, when I was at Tannyhill, Rafe was there on the phone with Ward. He kept repeating, 'my thing, this is my thing.'. He had to be talking about the cross.", Sarah explained to us.

"Definitely.", Pope confirmed.

"And, he's coming down to Wilmington tonight at eight o'clock. It's being shipped by train to Raleigh from there, but this is our only chance to get it back.", Sarah deadpanned.

"Did you get any other information?", Pope asked.

"Uh, Sarah has the cargo number.", Kie added.

"Better than nothing.", I shrugged.

"Yeah.", she confirmed.

"I mean, they're definitely fencing that shit off as we speak. If we're gonna do this, we have to do it now.", JJ stated, unbothered.

"Sarah, have you heard anything from my brother?", I asked my best friend.

"Nope. He's probably off somewhere with your dad, the only problem is that they have the Twinkie.", she added.

"Our transportation.", Pope shook his head.

"We can take my jeep. It'll be a bit of a squeeze but we can do it.", I offered.

"No pregnant ladies driving. I'm gonna ask my dad for the truck.", Pope deadpanned.

"Yeah, best idea of 2023.", I chuckled.

"I know but, it's our only option unless you want pretty boy to drive.", Pope said as he threw his hands up.

"Yeah, ask your dad.", I stated with a half smile.

"I'm gonna ask my parents.", Kie stated plainly.

"Cool! JJ and I will go with you since we know how they are. We'll have your back!", I exclaimed as we got into my jeep and drove to her house.

"Honey, I am listening to you but, I'm just having a hard time believing you. Just run us through it one more time.", Kie's mom stated firmly.

Kie was talking to her parents while JJ and I were in the kitchen. I took this opportunity to ask him about what happened on the boat.

"So, pretty boy, what happened between you and Kie on the boat?", I asked nonchalantly.

"W-what do you mean? Nothing happened between m-me and Kiara, no way!", he stuttered nervously.

"Your voice is a pitch higher than usual and you stuttered twice. That only happens when you're hiding something or I'm dominating you in bed and last I checked, my clothes are on. So, what happened?", I rambled.

"She almost kissed me. Look, she and I went out for a bit before you came along but that ended fast. I thought I had feelings for her but I didn't so I ended it. Turns out, she still has feelings for me. I didn't wanna tell you because it would hurt you and I don't want you to be stressing out about anything. Plus, y'all are best friends and I don't wanna get in the way of that.", he explained.
