Edgar stomped up the stairs, his furrowed eyebrows never ceasing as he opened the bedroom door quickly, looking at the vampires inside. Star and Laddie were still sleeping, holding onto each other for warmth and safety, while Y/n was up in the corner, farthest away from the window as he could get. He looked up at Edgar, his eyes being slightly hidden by his h/c bangs. He looked utterly exhausted but remained fully alert.

"Why are you awake? Aren't you supposed to be in a dead sleep."

Edgar grumbled, closing the door loudly, taking advantage that the other two vampires were in a dead sleep. Y/n scoffed and pushed his hair out of his face, now looking at the human dead on. Edgar frowned, putting his hand on the holy water filled gun at his hip, prepared for the blood sucker to make a move.

"I wish I were, believe me."

They stayed in an awkward silence, not bothering to look at each other for long periods of time. Y/n finally sighed and got up from his spot in the corner, alerting the Frog brother. Edgar narrowed his eyes at the vampire and watched as he crossed the room and sat on the edge of the bed, closer to the human. Y/n cracked a smile, one that Edgar did not like.

"How long've you been a 'vampire slayer'?"

Y/n asked, teasing littered in his voice. Thats one of the things he had learned from David and the rest of the Lost Boy's, use humor and sarcasm as a way to cope with everything and anything, even if they didn't say it directly but Y/n had noticed they all often did that.

"Long enough to know how to kill you effectively."

Edgar snarled, coming forward with his hand on the holy water pistole. Y/n rolled his eyes and stood up from the bed, almost towering over the Frog brother with his height. They were the same age, on a count of Y/n only turned about a few months ago, but with the blood running through his veins, Y/n felt like he was above the human in front of him in more than just height. Edgar wasn't intimidated by that, so he only stepped forward as well, looking into Y/n's e/c eyes with little to no respect.

"I could show you if you don't believe me."

Edgar said, now pointing the water gun to the vampire's chest. Y/n hissed, looking down at it, feeling the faint sting of whatever was on the tip of the gun from the last time Edgar had used it. Edgar almost pulled the trigger when Y/ns eyes flashed yellow and his teeth showed, but Y/n quickly turned around and hid his face, trying to calm himself down.

"I believe you."

He muttered, rubbing at the spot on his chest. Edgar nodded.

"You should."

Again, with the silence, the terrible awful silence that Y/n would throw out the window if he could. Instead, he remained quiet, looking at the sleeping Laddie and Star with the wish that he could be sleeping too. Edgar crossed his arms, trying to look macho.

"Don't get any funny idea's, death breath."

Y/n chuckled and nodded, holding his hands up and turning around slowly.

"With you around? I would be insane to think about it."

Edgar raised his eyebrow, sensing that there was more about to come out of the vampires rotten mouth. He was right. Y/n smirked, showing his human fangs while coming closer, his hands still raised up. He looked like an idiot, but the façade of being worried for his life gave Edgar a funny feeling inside his chest. His heart felt whole, his stomach was queasy, and his mind was telling him that he was doing his job right.

Y/n put his hands on the teens shoulders, leaning down ever so slightly to reach his ear. Edgar gritted his teeth, staring at the vampire from the corner of his eyes. Y/n stood beside his ear, opening his mouth ever so slowly.

"Your so much more tough than your brother."

He mumbled. Edgar shook his head, feeling his face start to get warm. He hadn't heard that before, then again he didn't want to compare himself with his brother in the first place.

"What are you getting at?"

Edgar hissed, narrowing his eyes. Y/n smiled and shrugged his shoulders, leaning back and crossing his arms. He looked so plainly nonchalant that Edgar worried about what the blood sucker was planning for his next speech. Y/n turned around and yawned, suddenly feeling tired.

"I'm just saying—I'd rather be killed by you, Edgar, than your brother."

Edgar hummed, thinking that wasn't such a bad idea. Y/n chuckled.

"You're cute, Frog."

"Wha—"

The door slammed open, Sam and Alan pushing forward with panicked looks on their faces. Alan grabbed his brother, giving Y/n a glare.

"They're coming, we need to get ready."

Alan said, looking between Edgar and Y/n. The two nodded.

"Leave the blood sucker here."

Alan muttered, pushing his brother out in front of him. Y/n rolled his eyes and sat down on the bed, looking over to Star and Laddie. He heard the door quickly close, the shuffling of feet and the loud whispering down the stairs.

"Why are you so red? Did he do something to you?"

"No! I would've staked him!"

Y/n huffed a laugh, rather glad that Edgar didn't get the chance.
