Shu Kurenai's Backstory

As some of my followers may know, I have two separate Beyblade Burst universes. One universe is the one where Shu's parents had another child whom they abandoned, leaving Shu to raise her alone. The other one is the one where Rose got reincarnated in (and my most popular story).

Shu's backstory is mostly the same in both universes. His parents neglected him and his maternal aunt looked after him when he was an infant, but sadly passed away.

I had the idea of Shu's parents being neglectful from a conversation I had with Inky_Kuro. I told her that in most stories, Shu's parents are portrayed as abusive or neglectful. She said that Shu's parents are actually pretty neglectful in canon. There was never any sight or mention of them.

Even when Shu randomly disappeared in another country, his parents didn't bother looking for him like a good parent would do. That shows that they didn't care about him at all.

Another sign is that Shu does everything by himself. He also acts twice his age despite being the youngest in the Bey club.

Nobody knows what Shu's parents are like at all. It's no wonder people write his parents as emotionally abusive.

I have also roped Shu with aquaphobia, or fear of swimming, due to a traumatic incident in his childhood where he almost drowns. In the episode where Spryzen breaks in the National Tournament, Valt accidentally goes into the ocean. He invites Shu to come in too, but Shu refused. I thought, What if Shu refused to go in the water because he's afraid of swimming?

Well, that's all I can think of for now.
