2 : The Library

   I spent my whole evening yesterday explaining to bella how I bumped into Jake Redman and listened to her babble about how hot he is, how lucky I am to talk to him and reason if it could be love at first sight

It was for lack of better words

Anyway, I've got English first period and luckily for me Bella's not in this class
I can't handle anymore of her rambling and she doesn't even care if I'm listening or not

So I get the stuff I'll need from my locker and head to class
I take my usual seat

Front row, center

Which leaves two empty seats one to my left and the other right

I'm a bit early so the class is still basically empty until the bell goes off and people begin to troop in and the class commences
The sit to my right was already taken by the only other person that likes to sit up front

Mrs Dumont's able lapdog
   Bryant smith

Poor guy probably doesn't know he's heading for a dead end
   
   My train of thought is cut short when someone takes the seat to my left, from the side of my eye I can tell it's a he but do I care to look up
  
   Nope
So I continue like nothing happened
 
  That is Until I hear someone call my name
"Hey, it's Alex right"
I look up, to my right and then to my left and
  
   Oh jeez
It's Jake
In my English class
And trying to talk to me

    Great just great

"Mhmm" I hum in response
"I'm a bit late and didn't meet the  beginning of the class, could you pass me your notes"

I look to his desk first
No writing materials

Then I look up to his face and raise a brow
"Just wanna uh glance through" he clarifies
Wordlessly I pass it to him
He takes it then hands it back seconds later with a confused look on his face
   
    Pfft dummy

The class ends and Mrs Dumont sends us off on a research

It's lunch break and I just realized Jake Redman is in basically all my classes
He's either behind or beside me both on my way there and in class

If I didn't know better I'd say he's stalking me

Heading out of geo to go to the library he calls out to me
And I reluctantly turn around

"Lunch?" He says
And I raise a brow as a silent question
"I wanna buy you lunch"

Really

"No thanks, I can buy my own lunch"
He looks like he's about to say something but I add
"Plus, I'm heading to the library anyways"

He looks confused for a moment, like he didn't hear me clearly and I'm contemplating repeating myself before he asks
"Why?" He looks genuinely confused
"Coz I've got two researches to do"
"Research? On what"

Seriously dude we were in both of those classes together and he's asking me on what
I wanna question his ability to concentrate but on second thought
   
  Do I give a fuck
      
Nope

So I go for the easy one
"Geo and English"  A plain response covers his question
"Oh" he murmurs
I turn around  to leave
"Can I come with"
"Sure,why not"

                     🌹🌹🌹🌹
It was a sarcastic response
But he took it, ate it up and now he's currently following me around, while I pick out books for both of us not being of any help, just staring around in wonder

Really dream boy, never seen a library

Ugh he's starting to piss me off
"You gonna help" I finally decide to speak
"No not really"

      Seriously
I just move to a sit and drop everything
I logged all by myself
And he gracefully sits himself down

“ Wow what a gentleman ” I mutter before sitting

And so I begin to study
Enjoying the silence
Until he breaks it
“what are you doing ”
"Studying"
"Wanna share ideas"
"No"
"I could be of help"
"No you need my help" I say distractedly

  Ugh I probably sound so proud

I raise my head to see that he's propped up on his elbows, tilted head, a small smile and an amused look in his eyes

So charming
I hate it

"Okay shoot"
"Great, so first of all Mrs Josephine wasn't clear if she meant settlements or just individual behavior so I don't think we should focus on just individuals"
"We?" Seriously Alex, that was all you could make out
"Mhmm" he hums while running his finger tips over the books "you wouldn't have picked this much just for yourself, would you?" He asks tilting his head

He knows the answer, why's he still asking
He clear his throat then continues
"Okay so why don't we routinely check through settlements and individual characters and then layout options for research"
"Sure"

This is actually fun
And he's actually not as dumb as I imagined
I mean he's actually pretty smart
"So I think we're good on that for now right " he asks
"Yeah, we're good "
"You ready to leave"
"Yeah, we have gym class last period, don't we" making emphasis on the we
"Okay, we can do this again some other time, right?" he ignores my previous question and replies with another question
  
  Do I want to do this again?

Yes. It was fun, I mean he's way better than bella and has a long focus span so definitely

   But do I want to let him know that?

Hell No
    Well not yet

So I'll just settle for short curt responses
"Sure why not"
"Maybe tomorrow" he asks
"If I'm free, sure"
" Back to short curt responses now are we "

Oh okay, I so wasn't expecting that
       Play it off Cool
He didn't catch you
"Well yeah, I mean you could only get my interest when you were-"
"Intellectual " He cuts me off, finishing my sentence for me
  
I want to say no
But eh whatever
He takes my silence for a yes and says "c'mon  Alex, don't be a dork"
  
And that sets me off
I get up to leave then he stops

"No-no, I didn't mean it like that"
    
      Really

Then like what

You come in here just so you can mock me

But I don't he's expecting
Coz I can see it in his eyes

He's bracing himself for an explosion

So I settle for a plain simple
"Okay"

Shock, confusion and then fear

In less than 5 seconds
Three different expressions

Wow he is such an open book

"Okay, so we're still gonna do this   another time"
        "Sure"

And he's got the guts to look relieved
Like it'll do him any harm if I said no

   Whatever
    I don't care

"So, you're leaving"
"Yeah, I am"
"Okay, I'll see you tomorrow then"
I don't ask  why he's not coming for gym class
I just wave
"Yeah" I say then leave
