Epilogue : Christmas Special

The only thing that would top their wedding day, would be watching their kids as they ran down the stairs of Blight manor and into the arms of their aunt and uncle, who carried a bagful of gifts.

Elmira spoke first. "Shh, children, you're going to wake your moms."

"They're already up!" Exclaimed Erwina, brunette waves in her face as she jumped up and down. Her little brother, still a toddler, not being able to speak merely gurgled in ascent.

Edric grinned wide. "Oh really? Hey, sis," He yelled up the staircase, "how about some of that egg nog, hm?"

"You're insufferable."

"Oh shh, Elmira, so are you!"

"That better not be fighting in front of my kids I hear." Amity replied as she made it into the living area. "What is this we hear about egg nog?"

Luz tried hard to mask her amusement but miserably failed, shaking her head. "It's good to see you guys." She picked up their son, Ali, and placed him on her hip. "What brings you here? I thought you were traveling for your tour."

"The guys decided to all spend Christmas with their families." Replied Edric.

The adults watched as Erwina circled all of them, running around as though working off a sugar high. "I want my gifts now, Mama!" She said, her accent not fully gone. Luz had implemented the rule of only speaking Spanish until a year ago, when she had entered school. Surprisingly, Amity had agreed and even learned Spanish herself.

"No," Replied her mom, "your aunt and uncle worked very hard and they came all this way to share the big day with us. We still have tomorrow."

Erwina frowned but nodded as she went to hug her Aunt, always giving her preference. Edric frowned visibly. "No hugs got me?"

"Mm mm."

"So mean, Lil' kiddo." He shook his head. "I might take my presents back then."

They all laughed as the young girl hugged him as well.

Luz's smile was brighter than the Christmas tree as they watched their children destroy the wrapping paper on their gifts, the whole blended family gathered to watch. Even King was sat by the fireplace, a Santa onesie in place, he looked almost comical as he chewed on his big bone wrapped with a bow.

Amity leaned onto her wife's shoulder, heart warm and soft. She would never get tired of this, of seeing her children alight with happiness and of the grandeur it all had.

"I love you," she whispered as their families spoke to one another.

Luz squeezed her hand back. "I love you."
