The Outcasted Couple {TVD/HOO}

Chapter One

(I guess a slight warning of homophobia or more of an implication of it. This chapter does take place in the 1930s)

Niklaus Mikaelson was in Italy to visit one of her favorite witches. "Nikki!" the witch squealed in excitement pulling the Original into a hug. "Hello, Maria," she returned back with a little laugh.

"Come in, come in," Maria invited her in and guided her to a couch where to children were playing and suddenly had their eyes on Nik instead of their toys. Maria had been surprised to find out Niklaus Mikaelson or Niklaus Anseldottir, the to be Original Tribrid was actual clear-sighted like her. It was what made them close as Nik spotted the witch killing one of the monsters she pretended she couldn't see to protect her children. That was how Nik learned the Greek Gods.

"Hello Nico. Hello Bianca," Nik greets.

"Hi Nikki!" the two greet, coming to hug her. After Nik had found out about the Greek Gods, Maria had told her the truth about her childrens' father being the Greek God of the Dead, Hades, and how he visits them on occasion. Sometimes he brought Persephone with him when she was allowed to leave the Underworld. Apparently they weren't married, they were actually just friends and the whole myth had been made up by Demeter and everybody just believed her. Persephone had been taken by Hecate because she wanted Hecate's help but didn't know she couldn't safely eat the food down there unless she was an Underworld deity.

The ten and twelve year old sit back down and start playing again. Nico was going on about a game his father had gotten him, but he did not have one of his father's namesake.

"Were you able to...?" Nik asked, sitting down with Maria, a cup of coffee in her hands.

"I was able to track him down and he's nowhere near yet," Maria said, "There are more protection spells I can do on your siblings so Sage can't find them or you. It will stick unless you will it off with your own magic, it will still be there if something happens," Maria cuts herself off, fully well knowing her children moved closer.

Hades, once learning that Maria did know a vampire, warned her that their children would notice something different about them and feel either comforted or stay away. Basically, Maria knew Nik truly thought of her as a friend when Nico and Bianca took to Nik almost immediately.

Maria also didn't mention what situation would come up for her to need to keep the spell happened. Nik had also learned demigod mortal parents were also at risk for being killed and because Maria gave birth to two powerful demigods, it would attract the monsters. Maria had put up a protection to hide them from the monsters, but it didn't hide them other gods, unfortunately.

"And Marcellus?" Nik asked.

"And Marcel, I like Marcel," Maria smiled back.

"Great. Great," Nik says, pulling out vials. She had to go through the pain of removing the daggers from her siblings only to stab them again with them only so she could get their blood because the daggers interfered with any spell on them. She never liked doing it, but she wanted her siblings safe. It was an unconventional way, but they either didn't listen to her worries, or their mental state worried her.

"What about Finn and Kol?" she asked Maria.

Maria frowned with a shake of her head, "I'm sorry, Nik. I still haven't figured it out," she apologized. Nik nods with her own frown before looking at the boxes surrounding them. "Hades wants us to move somewhere and else and away from the war," Maria told her.

"You can always move in with me," Nik offered.

"Oh, it's not ne—"

"Maria, you made me your children's godmother," Nik reminded her.

"And?"

"And because of this war I worry for my dear friend and her childrens' lives, I can't exactly go kill every soldier, it brings attention to Italy," Nik said with a slightly angry but malicious look in her eyes.

Maria studied the blonde, "I wish you were here when their father visits. You two would get along well. He's your type too."

Nik spluttered, "Maria!"

"What? It's not like I'm with him. I'm friends with him. I didn't see him as a monster others proclaim—just like I do you. He blessed me with children, even though they're really smart children due to their circumstances," Maria said. Yeah, Nik knew very well Nico and Bianca were reborn children. They were previously two of Hades' children that he allowed to be reborn, still as his children. Now both were witches.

"So?" Nik questioned.

"So, I have also been told he pictured a fierce woman who can handle the dead and not see him as a monster, nor judge his son," Maria said. She remembered how angry Nik had been after finding out why Nico had been killed in his previous life. "So why not the tall, beautiful blonde with a reputation as bad as his that I know has been with a few women in the past?"

"Including you?" Nik teased.

Maria teasingly smiled back, "Including me."

Nik jumped when she felt small arms wrap around her. Looking down she had seen Nico was hugging her while Bianca was smiling. "I never told him you would understand him," Maria informed the Original.

"Ah," Nik said, picking up the boy. She sat him in her lap, "You have nothing to worry about over me judging you. You love who you love no matter what sex or gender they are," she told him. Nico started sobbing, holding on to Nik tightly. Maria and Bianca watched the scene in happiness.

Soon, Nik was leaving, confident that her siblings would be protected although feeling hopeless that she could help her two brothers gain their magic back. She stumbled when she hit a wall, "Apologies," she said looking up and paused. In front of her was a dark haired man with his hair slicked back. He had the start of a beard and wore a dark suit. What got her was the dark obsidian eyes of his.

"It's no problem," he said, looking surprised, probably of her accent not being Italian. Nik had been surprised to hear he sounded kind of British as she walked off. She thought of his eyes again and then paused suddenly and turned around to see him entering the building the diAngelo's lived in. Then she thought of it, he had an alluring aura to her because her own behavior towards him. Who the hell makes her pause like that?????? But his eyes, they looked just like Nico and Bianca's. Nik's eyes widen, did she just meet Hades?
