i taught eli the fundamentals of ice skating to the best of my abilities. he was getting the hang of it and even skated by my side matching my pace.

he held my cold hand. "how did you learn how to skate?" he stood still. i stopped skating and turned to him. "my mom put me in lessons when i was five until i was seven... i'm not sure why i stopped. my family and i would still go here and there though."

i looked around at the three people on the other side of the rink. "i'm going to take a break, go have fun." elijah brought my hand to his lips and kissed it. i smiled then watched him turn around and cautiously skate to the wall.

he turned around and leaned back, smiling at me.

i can't believe we're really ice skating right now. it felt very nostalgic to be here. bittersweet even.

i skate to him and look up at him. "thank you for this."

it was such a small gesture but it meant so much to me.

his hands were cold when they softly touched my face but i didn't mind, not one bit. "of course angel."

i smile at my new nickname. i was definitely no angel but hearing it come from his mouth made it so believable.

i loved how soft his tone was when he would talk to me. his gentleness towards me was never looked over. i appreciated him a lot.

i wasn't the best at communicating how i felt. it was always easier to act upon my feelings instead of talking about them. i was aware of that mindset being unhealthy at times but it works for me. or maybe it doesn't. maybe that's why i'm so emotional and all over the place.

i'm just an emotional person in general.

but in this very moment i felt thankful and appreciative. so i kissed him, thanking him and showing my appreciation. i hope he felt that.

the second our lips separated i kissed his cheek then skated away.

*for eli's pov i'd listen to seeing double by nick hakim to get the full picture ;)*

when she skated away, the scent of strawberries went with her.

whenever she wasn't around me i immediately missed her presence.

she has such a radiating energy that made it hard not to be around her.

but i wanted to watch her in her natural environment. she seemed to really enjoy ice skating.

my eyes followed her as she skated gracefully. i watched her slowly twirl then continue skating.

when she would come back to the side of the rink where i was, she smiled and waved at me.

i knew now that i would do anything to make her smile.

i hope she believed me when i told her that i wanted every version of her. i meant what i said. every time i'm with her i see more and more of her personality. it wasn't easy getting to know her but i was determined to open her up.
