Us That Grew Distant

Time with you felt endless but without realizing it seems we've met the end
An uneven balance between us and them
Hiding behind each other's backs
To escape from the world
Who knew we'd have a deep end too?
An unfinished story
A bond that was strong like iron
Rusting over time by weathering life
Could we have saved it?
Probably, if only we tried
If only we had realized that we wouldn't last, maybe
Maybe the regrets would be a bit more bearable
Underneath this mask, it seems fine
You were the best thing and I was yours
Youth a radiant sun, blinding, dazzling
To you my friend, who knew me better than me
To you who went away without such a 'goodbye'
To us who grew distant over time
Not because of distrust or bad terms
But because of the life, we were too busy with
