Singularity F (II): Murder-Death-Kill Remastered

Start from the beginning

The three Chaldeans looked ahead to see the entrance to a likely much larger cave underneath the outskirts of the burning city. It was... quite the unimpressive destination, and Olga Marie wasn't afraid of voicing it.

Olga: And where is the Greater Grail? This is just a cave.

Cu: Below it is the Grail. There's a whole cave system kilometers wide, and because Saber is a Servant and not a monster, she can use her Noble Phantasm. Worse, she's in constant contact with the Grail, so she doesn't have issues with mana upkeep.

(Y/N): ...It's starting to sound a bit familiar, but I can't put my finger on it.

Olga: She has a working Noble Phantasm?! And you were silent about this?!

Cu: I just didn't bring it up earlier because it wasn't relevant at the time.

Shinketsu: *sarcastically* Gee, I wonder what kind of dumbass would think a Servant, corrupted or not, didn't have a Noble Phantasm on deck.

Olga: Ugh, I can't believe this. Okay, then riddle me this: You sound like you know more about Saber than just the basics. Do you know their True Name?

Cu: Yeah, I do know that name. Activating her Noble Phantasm is a dead giveaway. I'm not sure you're gonna like it, though.

Olga: Do I look like I like anything in the situation we're in right now?

Cu: Fair enough. Her Noble Phantasm is the sister sword to the sword in the stone, given to her by the Lady in the Lake.

Mash: Sword of the Lady of the Lake... Wait, you couldn't be talking about...!

Cu: Mmm-hmm. The Sword of Promised Victory, Excalibur. Held by none other than Arthur, the King of Knights and the head of the Round Table of Camelot.

The three Chaldeans gave varying reactions to this revelation. Mash was especially horrified at the prospect; Olga Marie looked more worried about the threat this would pose to their goal than the Servant itself; (Y/N) just raised a curious eyebrow.

Mash: K-King Arthur?! King Arthur is behind all of this?! But that's impossible! King Arthur is supposed to be a shining example of chivalry that all other knights are meant to follow! How could that person become evil?!

(Y/N): Hmm... Maybe this is the whole "Saber becoming Darth Vader" thing happened back in the day while I was kicking Goldie's ass...

Cu: Look, lass, every hero's got a dark side to them. Some aspects of themselves they don't like, something that could be twisted into 'evil'. Even a legend like King Arthur. If she didn't, then she would be something humans just couldn't truly understand.

(Y/N): Mmm-Hmm.

Mash looked crestfallen at that, turning away from the Caster after he finished speaking. King Arthur, evil? Even with extenuating circumstances around it, it just didn't seem possible for her to believe it. It hurt to think about.

She always admired the gallant heroes that she read about, and King Arthur practically defined gallantry. Hearing that there was a version of King Arthur that was evil... She felt incredibly sad at that notion.

As they were soaking up this information, (Y/N)'s smile suddenly twitched as his memetic senses flared to life. As much as he wanted to brutalize whoever thought was sneaking up on him, he decided to add a dramatic spice to the mix.

(Y/N): ...Mashmallow dear, would you move that shield slightly to the right?

Mash: What? Oh, alright...

(Y/N): And 3, 2, 1...

Right after she obeyed the request, Mash was startled as the shield suffered a solid impact on the edge. If it weren't for it, then Olga Marie's head would have been torn clean off her shoulders.
