In the realm of Elemental Affinities, classifications ascend through tiers: Little, Average, Good, Excellent, and Perfect. These designations were familiar to most practitioners of the arcane arts. However, what eluded our intrepid pair's understanding was the existence of affinities beyond perfection.

This arcane wisdom was veiled, a clandestine revelation reserved for the paragons of cultivation on the vast continent. Elevated above perfection, there were two secret echelons of affinity: Supreme and Ultimate.

Bastian, unbeknownst to many, had ascended to the zenith of affinity for both elements. His attainment of a supreme affinity unfolded with the emergence of e-vision, bestowing upon him the ability to perceive the currents of World Energy.

Yet, the apex of elemental harmony, Forced Harmonization of World Energy, remained an insurmountable feat for those attuned to the Supreme elemental affinity.

Phantasma looked back and shrugged at Sula. She was also stunned by the turn of events. But unlike Sula, she focused more on the impact this revelation had on the battlefield.

Water was the most common element among cultivators, making up almost half of the world's cultivators. Fire-type cultivators were the most suited for offensive battles. Thus the majority of the enemy's forces would be without a doubt fire and water element cultivators. This meant that, with one spell, Bastian was capable of rendering most enemy forces useless in large-scale battles, so long as he had the time and resources to prepare. Just this thought alone changed the way Phantasma looked at Bastian.

She understood his Harmonization due to her knowledge of the Tyrian Double Headed Storm Dragon. Although she was not sure how Bastian had awakened the bloodline, she and her sisters knew it possessed at least a Perfect Affinity. Bastian's usage of mana was still quite inexperienced. Phantasma was a Specialist who knew quite a bit about the way mages used mana. After all, a Specialist was a cultivator who could fuse qi and mana to a certain degree to strengthen themselves, such as Tyson's sister, the Heavy Flash.

Thus she could tell that Bastian's creation of matrices was amazing but his control over energy was weak and immature. Unlike the inexperienced and weak Sula, Phantasma stood at the peak of the Foundation Realm and had received some of the best training a warrior could receive. Hence she knew the value of a high-potential Warrior like Bastian who still had room to grow.

'If the effects are this strong just because of his affinity and skill in matrices, how strong would he become after gaining more experience in controlling mana and qi?'

Phantasma was woken from her trance due to a ruckus caused by the enemy when they saw the trio. The enemy immediately surrounded them and brandished their weapons and spells, ready to pounce.

"To think we would find an important fish in an isolated group like this."

"Haha, if I take down Sula Cole, my family will be set for life even if I die!"

"Idiot, if we hold her captive, we might be able to capture her alive!"

The invading troops had almost lost hope, but their sighting of Sula Cole, the pampered princess of the Cole Family, renewed their lease on life as their gazes burned with the will to live. Killing her would indeed result in financial rewards being given to the soldier who struck the final blow, or to the soldier's next of kin. But the wiser and most powerful of the group had the opportunity and swiftly took control.

"Stop chatting and get into position, we have to rearrange our positions! We have other comrades entering this courtyard, and reports are coming in saying the enemy is surrounding us as well. We will regroup and make a final stand from here. Now that we have Sula Cole in our hands, we can form up and counterattack! Hence we regroup we can attack in one direction and escape the encirclement-"

The speaker, a short and stocky dual earth and metal element swordsman, cut off his sentence as he stared at the centre.

"Commander Walker?" asked a subordinate. He was confused by the stocky man's sudden silence. Walker, the man in question, had quieted down because he had noticed the two individuals besides Sula. This was the first time he had ever heard of Sula capitulating to another human besides her brother.

'Sula isn't in the centre of the trio. It's that hooded figure. Why does he seem so familiar to me?'

Commander Walker was the strongest warrior involved in this mission. He rose from the ranks, starting as a gladiator in the Elite Gladiator League before he was given freedom and accepted into the Dwight Family. He was a powerful and experienced Middle Teacher. Under normal circumstances, a stomp of his can shake Yani City's elite circles.

Yet even he felt an odd foreboding when he saw the hooded figure. He wasn't sure what that foreboding entailed, all he could tell was that the longer he observed the man, the less pleased he was about the situation!

"Long time no see, Walker." Said Bastian, as he removed the hood of his cloak.

The crowd of enemy soldiers had now entered the hundreds, so they were pretty noisy due to their situation. But some of the people in the crowd were louder.

"It's the Tempest Monk!"

"What is he doing here?"

"The Tempest Monk? Is the Blind Disaster here as well then?'

Bastian's presence caused the crowd to tense up. He had built up quite the reputation as a powerful two-star gladiator with the ability to punch above his own weight, especially if given time. No one had any clue as to how to fight against wind mages because they were simply that rare. He could also cause people to faint with inexplicable means, like what he did to the Heavy Flash.

Many powerful Teachers had chased after him on his way home from the arena but none could even land a blow on Bastian. A Student fleeing from Teachers as he pleased. If such a character became a Teacher, just what level would he reach?

Walker had been the leader of the regiment of Teachers sent to capture Bastian. The latter was already aware of Walker's existence. Bastian had insulted Walker many times during the battles they had outside the arena and it was causing Walker to lose face. This was why Walker had a great impression of Bastian.

Walker had chased the lad a few times and knew most of his moves. Thus he was more aware of how dangerous Bastian was than his compatriots.

An opponent people could not fully understand was frightening. But he had an even more frightening identity. He was Kenshin's closest comrade!
