There was a time I thought I'd be lonely. So utterly lonely that I'd die and nobody would remember.

I was always told to take care of Tati as if I wasn't a child myself. I hated my parents and Tati.

I promised myself that I'd leave them behind after I was successful enough to support myself and my hobbies.

But then... the accident happened.

I acted out of line. I blamed myself even though I was the one that had nothing to do with it.

Tati had no idea what happened that day. She was traumatised to the point that she needed therapy for six months straight.

I had to make all the servants and other staff leave without that month's pay, and they thankfully understood. Marco's father and a few men decided to work double shifts for us and another local security agency.

Somehow, I managed to find father's diary with all his passwords and other things after I spent my saved up allowance. I figured out a few of his random codes and found the passwords to his savings account and debit card.

I couldn't put Tati through much but she volunataily took care of the house after her school and learned to cook for when I could not be around.

It lasted a few years until there was only a month's worth left on my graduation day.

I joined whatever jobs I could at the same time and was working three jobs right out of college.

There wasn't a single soul that could believe that I lived in a mansion but had to work three jobs because nobody wanted to support us.

Tati wanted to tutor kids at the mansion but I refused and asked her to take up a vocational course that she liked. She thought about it and argued with me another day.

She wanted to become a teacher no matter what and I couldn't explain that I couldn't take up a loan just yet. Tati hated me and didn't talk to me for weeks and I couldn't even show my face because of the jobs.

They stepped in our gates for the first time that day... those snakes...

They took Tati with them and I had to run around the city with no idea where my only sister and family could be. The thought of her being gone was terrifying for some reason.

I thought she left on her own but Marco had seen them enter and take her away.

I put on my only suit for the first time that day. I was angry for the first time that day. I was ready to use my father's gun that day.

It was with me— that black Russian model of a handgun that father used to adore.

That huge Asian style mansion that they had built in the middle of nowhere

"Rosa?" A soft voice broke me from my reminiscing.

I hummed back in response.

"I received your dress and a report from Marco. Do you really want to go to the party?" He asked.

I nodded, "I wouldn't know anything about my parents for the rest of my life... I think he's someone who knows what happened that day— what happened in the entirety of their lives..."

He sat down besides me and sighed, "You need atleast a week to move around without reopening your wound. What if you end up paralysed?"

A thought came to me at that moment, "Wait— if that person sent someone to kill me, why did he not hire a shooter?"

Niccolo was surprised too, "Now that you talk about it— Marco sent a bio on my brother's activities in the last six months and he's never once worked for someone else in his entire life until then."

"What if he wants to keep me in the hospital?" I looked at him wide eyed as another realisation occurred, "It's as if the party would kill everyone..." I mumbled.

"What if it's just another trick to keep you in the hospital and ambush you here?" Nick added, "It could be either of the two."

"Fly in twenty of our best men from Marco's team immediately and send fifteen to the party undercover," I picked up my phone to call Tati, "and make sure they're not suspicious in any manner. Tell them to represent Cordello as a company and assign them roles."

"It'll take at least ten hours to bring them here and have a plan strategy ready for infiltration." He said, getting up.

"I don't care," I put the phone to my ear and looked at him, "Keep three men with you at all times, and two will be with me. The party starts tomorrow evening— You have 12 hours max to derive a good plan." I ordered.

I called Tati to let her know that I was not going to attend the party because there was something important to do. I asked her to be with Marco at all times because I suspected something.

The call didn't last too long.

All that was left to do was wait till Nick's plan was ready to be reviewed by me.
